@yjc593110 ай бұрын
@@Mrs_NOT it was awesome, I bought a f1.4 50mm RF prime lens to use it for portrait shooting, it looked really good, never can achieve such bokeh effect with phone. But as a beginner, I do realize the problem of crop frame vs full frame camera, because if you’re shooting scenery, you ended up can’t shoot the whole landscape with the stock 18-45mm zoom lens, which using my iPhone was even better. And without stabilizer, shooting video with it makes you dizzy watching it. And any lens with shorter focal length of less than 18mm would cost you much much more. The crop factor of 1.6 becomes pain in the ass for me in a long run. But well, this kinds of justify why ppl were getting the expensive full frame camera, cause at certain level the lens are the big price, and that sensor crop factor is always there. I used it for my Switzerland vacation, I ended up using it mostly to shoot the people portrait not the landscape as much, partially also because I’m just lazy to keep switching lens
@yjc593110 ай бұрын
@@Mrs_NOT but still, none of those were issue with the camera body itself, it was awesome. Another note was that since this uses RF/RF-S mount lenses, they are the newer mount type which there are super limited options, so you should get an RF to EF lens mount adapter if you have EF mount lens to use with

On the R5 there is a setting called "Movie Servo AF Tracking Sensitivity" where there's a sliding scale. On the low end of the scale -3 is "Locked On" where the focus will track the face no matter who else appears in the frame. On the Canon R50 there isn't a setting called "Movie Servo AF Tracking Sensitivity". Is there an equivalent setting that locks focus on the person you tap regardless of who else enters the frame?

omgosh, I loveed your tutorial. I was looking for someone to explain the r50 in detail like what you are doing in this video. I just bought the r50 but I'm not likeing the kit lens it comes with; I can zoom but I'm not able to focus. what are your thoughts,? I was thinking of returning the camera and only buying the body only camera with no lens and just adding a better lens. I also have the cannon t5 and have an 18-55 and a 75-300, all I need to buy is the EF-R adapter. Am I using the 18-55 lens that came with the r50 wrong or is there something really wrong with that lens?

Thank you so much. No one else that I've seen explained the modes in depth like this. Especially the pain of M mode. Still, it looks like it would be a good little shooter. Maybe a efm adapter could be made?
@MMaven Жыл бұрын
I think the R50 will surprise a lot of shooters. Great for beginners & content creators. It is surprisingly small and light, & missing some higher end features, (like dual card slots, or even UHS-ii) but still packs a punch. Even pros should consider it if they are looking for a lightweight backup.
@keensoundguy6637 Жыл бұрын
What do you mean by "a efm adapter"? An EF to M lens mount adapter exists, but it's useless for this camera inasmuch as this camera uses the R mount. Puzzling the model is "R50" then, no? If you made a typo error and really meant EF to R adapter, well, those have been on the market for quite some time since this is far from the first R mount camera. I'm at a loss to understand what you were trying to say, and Michael's reply did perhaps the smarter thing and just ignored that question.
@thegreatvanziniphotos5976 Жыл бұрын
@keensoundguy no, I meant so I could use all my old M mount glass on this cam. I have it about so starting out it would be great to use it.
@barbaranostrand421410 ай бұрын
Looks like Canon mostly swapped out the lens mount on the M50, lost sensor cleaning, and upgraded the firmware a bit. Apparently, the bottom line is that Canon decided to abandon all lenses other than the R mount lenses and ditched the camera bodies to go along with their lens decision.

Thank you for this! I just purchased this camera and paired it with a Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD. I primarily got this set up to video my two boys' indoor travel basketball. I am having trouble with the lens auto-correcting under autofocus, at a very rapid rate consistently. I am attempting to over-crank at 1/400 shooting at 1080, I have the Servo AF on. I am very new to this and claiming to be a novice would be a compliment. I just want to be able to have very little blur panning and tracking them and be able to slow-mo later in production. I watched your video and it helped but I would like to go more in-depth for my application. Do you have any indoor basketball videography advice with my combo? Thank you!
