Great points Geoff! Gotta buy a Canon cinema camera if you want these things. I highly doubt that Canon will put things like this in their mirrorless cameras. I would love it though. I would like to see oversampled 4K60 in the R7 instead of the line skipped 4K60 that it has.

Why do you like the image on r7 > fx30. I’m looking to shoot travel video as well as sport and I interview style documentaries. And looking at these two.

I like the skintones on the r7 way better. Now I can correct that in post for the most part which is why I use the fx30 more as it has a lot more features. But straight out of the camera I prefer the canon and I use it for most of my KZbin talking heads so I don’t have to spend as much time color grading

Question. Does the sigma 18-35 lens work well with the Canon R8? I haven’t seen any videos with that combo.

The problem is, although it will work well with the auto focus, the R8 will force you to use the crop mode and the video quality is substantially worse than the full frame mode. So you won’t see many people using crop sensor lenses on full frame canon cameras, as at that point you will get crazy better image quality with the R7

@@ReachFilms exactly I would purchase that r7 right now if those viltrox 23mm, 33mm, 56mm, 75mm we’re available. I’ve been primarily a Lumix shooter. However the a6700 looks promising. I would mainly shoot street photography on it and some video. That active reframing looks amazing. I wouldn’t have to stand so still when recording my self. Does that work well in vertical too?

@@sdhute it doesn’t work well in vertical unfortunately, if interested in the reframing stuff look at my most recent video with the Hohem gimbal and AI tracker. The results are way better than the internal stuff on the a6700

Part of the charm of this camera to me is it's lightweight compactness. It's the perfect hiking camera. A vertical grip just adds weight and bulk. My humble opinion.

1) just use a Atomos Ninja V. 2) You can add LUT on Atomos Ninja V and even my cheap Andycine 4K A6 plus will let you upload LUTS 3) Why would anyone use R7 as a Webcam without an external microphone for Webcam use??? The usb-c is NOT designed for anything but charging and tethering and file download. 4) You CAN record internally AND on the Atomos Ninja V at the same time - with the right settings. 5) The Ninja V with Atomos Connect and the right software do make R7 into a live streaming monster even via NDI, Wifi or ethernet or via Atomos cloud studio. I updated my Atomos Ninja V to os 11.04.02 and added all the extra codec available. Just awesome what this can do. With all the demands you have R7 would be 2000$ plus. Makes no sense.
