Hi Tony and Chelsea, I have always enjoyed photography I have just never been very good at it and have never had the funds to invest in a good camera. After watching countless hours of your videos on KZbin, many of them a few times, I realized I can do this, so I saved up for a while "longer than I care to admit" and purchased a new T5i with the 18-35 and 70-300 kit lens. I also was able to get extra batteries, a large 64 GB card and a remote shutter control that you recommended. I know that the T5i is considered an entry level DSLR but that is the most I could do. I almost held out a little longer so I could get the 70D but I ran out of patients. LOL! One day I will be getting your guides and I have just got to have that t-shirt "Stay Focused". Anyway, the purpose of this is just to say thank you for turning photography into a reality for me, your contribution is greatly appreciated.

Regarding Movie Rec Size option (47:50) If you are wanting to use 24 FPS but the option is just NOT PRESENT, it means your camera is set to use PAL video system. To use the 24 FPS option the camera must be set in NTSC Video System. (This can be changed using the third from the right menu - video system is the bottom menu item). Hopefully this might help someone as it confused me at first!

I currently own a T3i and a 5D mark III. I want to get this camera to use as a back up. Over using my T3i. This video is fantastic. Thnks for making it. I love how they combined the configuration as a cross between the Pro body like my 5D mark III and a regular Canon Rebel like my T3i. The biggest reason I'm getting it for is the continuous Auto Focus on Video and also it's 24 Megapixel over the 18 Megapixels of my T3i.

Just picked up a T6S with a grip and 2 batteries for just a smidge over $300. My first Rebel camera actually. I have full frame and aps-h sensor Canon's that I love, and also a few of the "enthusiast" level aps-c cameras, even a the original ALL CANON dslr, the D30.. yes, D30, not 30D.. The top LCD and the top on/off switch make this more like a D camera than a Rebel (which previously always had the mode dial on the right side).

Yes thank you so much for going into detail on the camera I will be buying soon. My dilemma is that some of what I will be shooting will be sports and would like to not even bother getting the kit lense. That then makes me want something like a 18-200 or 250 lense that is still better than the kit one.....I am willing to spend what the body is worth on one lens that I may never take off, except perhaps to put on the 50mm prime as you suggested. So what lense would you suggest, what is the best solution for what I want to spend?

Like always great video that is my first kit camera from canon now I’m looking for a BestBuy store close to my house that have the canon eos R5 and the lens RF 70-200 /2.8 is a big upgrade but my fingers are itching to try the eye and the camera tracking focus system and the amount of mega pixels are huge also, the camera auto focus reviews I’ve been looking at it is what is making change from DSLR to mirolless camera I have a bad shake problem had surgery on my right hand due to carpal tunnel syndrome and still have to do the left side, but it’s a good camera for people who are starting, don’t be afraid of diving in to the camera changes and I would suggest to use it for at least one year before thinking about getting a new one,KZbin camera reviews will be tempting to get you to have you upgrading your camera but it happened to me right when I was getting the hang of the camera don’t even look at other cameras reviews, lenses are important

loved your video Tony! i just bought a t6i so it was really helpful! Quick question, you mentioned the sigma lenses help get more megapixels out of the dslr´s (unlike the base lense that comes with it), so here is the question: I have canon´s 50mm F/1.8 lense you mentioned, does that lense also help get more megapixels out of the camera? If so, aproximately how many? Im wondering if I should go ahead and buy the sigma lense or if im okay with the 50mm since i do mostly portraits. Thanks a ton!

I just recently bought the T6s and I love it. I'm doing my best at learning all of which I can about fully operating my camera with little to no error. I do have a question about the aperture. I realize my camera with the standard 18-55mm lens only goes to a F-Stop of 4.0 and as high as 25. How would I per say, get a smaller aperture? Does that have to do with lens or my camera itself?
