I shoot with the Canon 28-70mm with a R6 Mark II. I do both weddings and Events. You are 100% correct. It never leaves my camera I bring a 35mm. 50mm 1.2 . 85mm f2 100mm and some 6 other RF lens including the 24-70mm. In the course of the event I never really need to switch lenses. This is heavy as hell during a 5 hour wedding. This is for work not for fun. The quality is superb,

Very nice video. I love reviews from people who use a piece of equipment and know it. But, you live in Fort Myers, so you know there are people who buy boats and Porsches for a hobby, so a $3,000 lens is inexpensive as hobbies go.

I found the auto focus to be slow and lazier than every other L series RF mount lens I’ve used. I returned it.

@@Soul_Visuals_Photography It must be your camera autofocus settings, the lens autofocus speed is on par with 24-70mm f2.8 despite it having an extra F stop

@@Jekoza definitely not. May have been a lemon lens. But i have mentioned my findings on a few Canon professional groups, and I have found a pretty substantial amount of people who felt the same way. It's looking like we're gonna be getting a Mark two version of that lens this year. I'm definitely excited for that.

The 24-70 is a fantastic lens. It’s good enough for both. I’d also say the 15-35 f2.8 for wide shots and the like. A good zoom lens as well. The 70-200 or the 85mm for those compressed shots.

Is the focus breathing that off putting for your video work? I do 60% stills and want this but don’t know how much the focus breathing will affect me.

I haven’t had many issues with the focus breathing. It either happened at a moment I didn’t see it or just didn’t realize it did being in such fast paced environments and situations. I’d rent it first before buying it to test that out and see if it’ll fit your needs

No, it is not the perfect lens. It lacks 24mm. Wait for the Sony 24-70 f2.0.
