Hi great video thx awesome work, canopy looks great. I know you weighed car before the canopy install, did see the car weight in this video, can you tell me the weight difference between the tub and canopy and the new canopy thx
@asweadventureaus42649 ай бұрын
Hey, so when we got it weighed with the old tub and canopy it was 3035, and with the new chassis mount canopy it came in at 3145, so yes we did gain weight, but that’s because we now have a bigger fridge, 2 permanent mounted solar panels vs the portable one we used to have, not to mention everything else installed inside the new bigger canopy, oh and a much bigger awning than the one we had before. Our biggest concern was that we remain compliant with our weights and we are happy that we have achieved that, even with all the extras.

thx I have been considering it for a while, but I am right at my maximum now with caravan on. Again thx and safe travels

Great looking rig. Did you happen to know the empty weight for the chassis mount canopy?
@asweadventureaus42643 ай бұрын
@@junglebunnymambo I’m not sure to be honest, but the MRT website might have that info for all their deferent canopy set ups. Thanks for watching, we really appreciate the support 😊

Hey guys, love your set up and what you do to show us all! Just a quick question, I have a ford ranger with similar accessories and about to make the jump to a fixed mount canopy from MRT. Just wondering if you went the 1650 or the 1800 canopy and if there is much weight difference between the two? Also curious as to what GVM upgrade you guys have. Cheers 😊
@dazzag16838 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, we when for the 1650 canopy as recommended for a duel cab, I did not research an 1800 canopy at all so I’m not sure on the weight difference. I’m sure MRT would be able to give you that information. I opted for a pedders 3500kg GVM upgrade as I had pedders on the front and rear anyway, even though the rear shocks I had weren’t able to be upgraded so had to purchase another set. I would imagine most companies offer similar quality GVM upgrades. If you have any other questions about our setup I will be happy to answer them for you.

Where abouts did you get the bushman 130L ? $1495 is the cheapest price I’ve heard of.
@asweadventureaus42649 ай бұрын
Hey, we actually ordered it from bushman website online, it was free express postage too. We got ours in November last year so not that long ago.

Who travels with empty water tanks!!
@asweadventureaus42645 күн бұрын
@@Jolly-Josh it actually happens quite often, especially when leaving a site after a few or more days. Depending on how many nights we plan to spend at the next camp, we will either fill just 1 tank or both in the nearest town to where we are next stopping. We try not to travel too heavy if we don’t need too as obviously that also chews through the fuel. Thanks for watching and commenting though.

As someone who rides, even though im mid 50's, I can't imagine not having a bike.....I can see your justification, but you must have your reason's?
@asweadventureaus42649 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your message, Darren and I have both ridden bikes since young teenagers, there was only a few short years since then that we’ve been without bikes, don’t get me wrong, we both love riding, Darren already misses not having a bike so maybe one day he will get another bike. There’s a couple of reasons, long story but what sealed the deal for me is that our daughter was killed in a motorcycle accident 16 months ago, she was a confident rider herself, but on this day she was a pillion passenger and put her trust in a ‘friend’ who chose to speed, and lost control. He survived, she died at the scene, forever 31. Never say never, there may come a day when I’m ready to ride again, but until then!

@asweadventureaus4264 My heart goes out to you both....that's just terrible. I'm from Canberra and was the 1st at the scene to a roadbike accident (I was on a dirtbike at the time) and it made me sell all of my bikes as well, road and dirt!.....It had such an effect on me. For over a year I couldn't look at another bike! It took a lot of soul searching to realise, the bike itself isn't dangerous and therefore I started riding again, although I choose who I ride with know very carefully. I wish you all the best and I've subscribed to your channel ❤️

@@baumie461 thank you, and yes maybe one day I’ll ride again. My daughters children are what keep us going through these difficult times, losing her has made us realize how short life can be, and that tomorrow isn’t promised which is why we have decided to travel Australia now. Thanks for the subscribe 😊 stay safe out there.
