I’m 20 years old but I feel like it can happen at almost any age as long as you are at a point in your life where you feel like you can offer yourself the necessities, that you want from life. Is that a house? Is that a career? A car? Stable mental state? Etc. It doesn’t matter as long as you know, that everything you need isn’t relying on that marriage. Because god forbid, if things go wrong for whatever reason… you need to be sure that you still have what you had before the marriage.

We had no idea what type of responsibility we were getting ourselves into when we were that young or the hardships would face both coming from broken homes. But we loved Each other, we work hard at communication despite our different styles, we compromise for each other in many ways and we trust God to help us with our imperfections. By no means were we whole but what we have is working and I wouldn’t tell others they need to be whole make it work. We are a constant work in progress and we’ve learned to embrace just that.
