Guys, the drywall is looking good. I only have a few comments and this is regarding the chickens. We are farmers up in Maine, one of our main sell are eggs. You can imagine for that I have a lot of hens (your girls look great btw). Just some advise, I saw that you were giving them scratch in the morning, and I noticed there was feed corn in it. The average sitting temperature of a hen is 105 degrees, feed corn requires an immense amount of energy to digest, add that with 100 degree temps outside and you can easily overheat your hen. During the hot months mine only get wheat, oats and black sunflower seed as scratch (in the winter add that corn back in, it helps keep them warm). I also wanted to touch on that it looked like the scratch was also there main food ( I might have missed something). Our main chicken feed is a mul;ti flock grower crumble, (very high in protein) scratch is a treat used for added nutrition but also to keep them occupied. I also suggest putting ice in there water since it is soo hot down there, this will help with heat stress, and keep the vents to the coop open at night. This will help also but it also keeps air moving through the coop and keeps the ammonia down. You can also freeze blueberries, broccoli etc... as a treat/keep them busy treat and also keeps them very cool during the hot summer.

Now that you've done all that work on the drywall with the mud, take a six foot straight edge lay it on the walls to find out where your high and low and add mud accordingly. I also noticed you used no corner bead on any of your outside corners which does a few things for you when you do use them, one is that you get crisp outside corners that two, will be protected if you ever opps and hit the edge with something hard, like furniture. If your looking for a technique for a prettier ceiling, cut a 5 inch round plywood disc and attach it to a three foot pole, then glue a piece of carpet to the round thats also cut to fit that shape of the round. Now here's the trick, touch the carpet to the surface of the mud, gush it in a bit and give it a mild turn and bring it out, put it up to the ceiling gush it on the drywall and give it a quarter turn, and pull it down. You should get a lovely droplet pattern. Now what to do with it once you cover your entire ceiling? The way I saw it in its most beautiful application was with some pearl added to the paint which later reflected the colors of the room. The pors and cons are it's boring, and it's not messy. And more then one person can do it at the same time.

You will permanently cool that roof off when you build a pitched wooden roof on top. It will absorb the heat and the ventilated gap will cool that heat off before it gets to your seacan roof. Good thing you have a mill!

120 here in the workshop in TX, but its a dry heat LOL. So when you guys are wet sanding, to save you some time, first just run the damp sponge over the "dry" mud to get it damp, then come back a few minutes later, it makes a lot less work to smooth it out, just my experience. and Wet sanding beats sandpaper sanding every time.

@@CantContainUs I watched the video when it was delivered by her dad and I’ve been racking my brain to find a way to make something like that work for my house too. I might just have to build a box around the entrance to keep the raccoons and opossums from using it. It’s my fault they’re in my yard. I leave food out and have a small kiddie pool so I can watch from the window for entertainment. It’s a single old person thing lol

I just went by Warrenton today. The heat index today is 115F!!! That's 46.1 Celsius. I also have asthma and the Canadian wildfires really set mine off. I've had an albuterol inhaler for years and the doctor gave me an additional (still use the other as needed) once a day steroid inhaler that was works like a charm. For what it's worth.

one thing I must touch on about peppers is what makes them and it's not the seed and this is what Google says The “hot” in hot peppers is due to capsaicin (C18h27nO3), a colorless, odorless oil-like compound found in the fruit of a plant that is a close relative of the tomato. Capsaicin is primarily found in the membrane that holds the seeds.

Your garden looks good but could use some more water. You might try drenching them, since it is so hot, which is basically watering them 3+ times until the water ponds. You can make a pool with the sand around each plant and fill it with water and it will go down to the roots much easier and will not run off as much. So fill each of these with water until it makes a puddle and stays there for 30-60 seconds. The plant will thank you with much more fruits and veggies.

This is the first I've heard of "wet sanding" the drywall. I have always just gone the sandpaper and dust route. I have some repair work to do at my son's house and will definitely be trying the wet sanding approach. Summer, it's window sills not seals. Sorry Summer. The seals are caulk spray foam, rubberized material etc to keep the water and air out. In the summer months wer are routinely + 100 degrees but no humidity (thank goodness). Have a good week and stay safe. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
