It has been a long time since I have seen or done a Canteen Cup Tuesday! While splitting firewood i took a break to cook up a little lunch. Quick Barley with Vienna Sausages. Cooked using my Atiap titanium alcohol stove.

Hey, it's my fault for not being there when the stump was producing. No worries, thanks for the stickers 🙂. It was a tasty CCT lunch. Needed some Pete though. Question about the condiment pack of Pete, are they still good if they change colors from red to orange/yellow? I've got several I collected when we were on lockdown, but they're not that hot sauce red color any more.

@@karlo8093 - the Texas Pete, in the clear plastic packs will turn pink after a while, faster if left in heat, sun or light.. keeping them in the fridge is best. They are so plentiful around here that I toss ‘em if they change colors and get new ones. Curiosity got the best of me once .... I tried a slightly “turned” one and couldn’t taste a difference but I never tried a completely “pink” one. I’ve seen packets for sale at Walmart that are NOT clear, and Bojangles and Chick Fil A have regular clear ones.

Oh good to know. My supplier ran dry, but the ones I got were all in the clear plastic. I'll have to look for the other packaging. Thanks!

Thanks Papaw! I got close to 20 minutes burn on that one. Went a good long time. I like the quick barley, it's a goid alternative to instant rice, with a little better taste I think. And, it's light weight and cooks quick. Easy to pack! Thanks for watching and for the comments. I appreciate ya!

I bought those Vienna sausages one time and thought it was terrible. I figured the dog would eat the rest of them, nope even the dog would not eat them. But your meal looked good except for that.
