I used to go dancing to Italian places in Corona, NY, Corona Heights, NY & NYC starting when I was a little girl with my parents & then with other fellas as I got older. Many of these songs are from the war. I went to Italy with my grandparents when I was about 14. After lunch one day with a bunch of my grandparent’s friends, they started singing songs. One of my grandparent’s friends was pleasingly shocked that I knew the lyrics to the songs, stating that most of the Italian youth had no clue. I HAD A BLAST THAT AFTERNOON!

I have this album! I actually knew the singers - they used to hang out at the Emiliana Restaurant on 1st 😊Avenue in Manhattan!

I grew up with Valtaro Musette Orchestra music. I used to have Volume 1 - 8 in this series on LP, i wish I could find them all again. I believe the series was "Cantati con noi" with Valtaro Musette Orchestra. I would go to monthly dances in Astoria, N.Y.C at the "Family Club" and Valtaro was usually the band - also sometimes Mindi Cerri.
