This video is a drive through the streets of Canton Ohio. Canton is a decent city with the hall of fame and McKinley monument but it has its share of poverty also.

Nice footage of you doing 40 in a 25 and rolling stop signs...driving like Canton gangs are dangerous and chasing you through the north west side. The biggest threat area in this video is you speeding through residential neighborhoods. I have kids out playing in one of these neighborhoods...slow tf down!!!!

You were right in my neighborhood in the Westbrook area. You went pass my Church. My job moved me here from Atlanta, Georgia my hometown. Been here since 2001. Crime is everywhere so you can't just put Canton on some high horse. But for the most part people get along with each other and try to help each other when they can. It's so small here so every time you go out you are bound to run into someone you know. I'm from Atlanta so I know rough but Canton's issues are more due to a lack of jobs and people wanting to live off of the government.

I grew up in Canton. We moved back there in 1970, to Rainbow Acres, now known as CHIP Townhouses. That's on the northeast end. It was still pretty new back in '70. We moved out in '82. I still feel sentimental whenever I see someone drive through it.

I’m watching this again I see some different opinions here in the comments section so I figured I would leave mine. I was blessed to move to Canton, Oh very beginning of 1989. We lived on the S.W. End. 6th and Garfield Sure this neighborhood was never fancy, but it was a thriving decent little neighborhood for sure and we always felt safe. I also lived On Dueber between 6tha and W. Tusc. Then on Park closest to tusc ( the apartment building no longer stands sadly. ) I am extremely nostalgic for the years between 1989 and 1996. The world was such a different place back then! I will always have such fond memories of Canton and especially the S.W. End! Really miss Canton Center mall at this time as well! Such a shame the owners, who, from my understanding, live out of state, just let it go to rot! I’m deeply saddened every time I drive by the old neighborhood as it is so incredibly run down and the crime is getting worse. Tho I will say crime is bad everywhere now days sadly. But it really hurts my heart to hear people talk about about it because there was a time when It was thriving and I’m sure way before I ever lived there how much better it was then! Anyhow that’s my two cents ❤ Oh btw i remember shopping at Apples grocery (now giant Eagle ) And eating at Lindsey’s’s restaurant, which is sadly closed since a year ago I believe . And also Fishers foods grocery store on Harrison was the best really made me sad when they put crummy dollar stores in there.!

I was born in Canton, left at 18. Most of my generation eventually left, even if it was for a nearby city with a better standard of living. Once the industries left, and the focus went to North Canton (Belden Village Mall), older sections of Canton languished. With the low cost of living, came high crime, high poverty, lack of jobs, inexpensive drugs, easy access to welfare. Last time I went home (I still call it that), I saw scenes out of a post-apocalyptic horror movie: fighting in the streets, boarded up and burnt out buildings, cars on blocks in the front yards of occupied homes. Scary, and sad.

I recently left canton for a beautiful southern city. Watching this feels like home 😔 but this is why we left. Drugs ruined this place. Crime spiked. I’d see people passed out on the street from heroin at 8am in Perry township! That used to be one of the better areas of canton.

Well thanks for the comment. There are still some decent parts of canton but it has gone downhill since I left in 2007

I lived in Canton for the majority of 56 years. Between the horrible winters and the ever increasing crime rate I left for the sunny, beautiful south. It's really sad to see Canton go downhill like it did.

I'm from Akron, then Cleveland, moved to Canton 21 years ago. Canton is SOFT, even in their roughest areas in comparison. Watch out for the "dreaded " South West Boys...bunch of meth heads who wanna be gang bangers that would run if the Crips or Folks from Cleveland's east side showed up. The biggest threat in this video is dude speeding through residential neighborhoods

I miss it too. Grew up in Louisville. Most of my family still lives there. I will be moving back this summer after 23 years. Mostly ran around N. Canton, Plain Township, and Jackson areas in the 90's, but I have a lot of great memories of downtown as well. A lot of people talk bad about it, but I love it.

Sorry bro but you're driving way too fast through these neighborhoods. Especially over there by the cemetery on a one lane road. Believe it or not, people give a crap and don't want to see loved ones get run over.

Belden village itself is looking pretty rough these days as well 💯💯💯😂drive thru there🤷🏾♀️ so much stuff is boarded up. All Canton cares about is being a boring football 🏈 town. 💰 Gets sucked dry with crap that is not even needed and no one asks for.

Bad areas in any town. I live in LA. In South Central L A-- people live in graffiti covered houses behind chain link fences and a pit Bull in the yard !! But on T V and movies you usually see Beverly Hills mansions. Canton is typical of all U S cities-- not the exception.Canton has mostly beautiful areas in and surrounding the city. Show that !

Love how the hoods here are all these big ass 2 story houses, come to Australia and the “hood” is all houses with like 1-2 bedrooms and a tiny living room. Or huge complexes of tiny living spaces. Obviously America is 10x worse areas but the actual living arrangements in these areas look okay 😂
@mattshaheen53332 жыл бұрын
Those houses tend to be multi-family dwellings. There are like 2 or 3 units per house.
