IMPORTANT: For everything to work correctly on M1 computers, after installing you need to: Right click the app, choose "get info" and check "Open using Rosetta"! I thought this was fixed, and this shouldn't be needed for future versions, but for now unless you do this overdubbing will be broken!

Hey everyone, thanks for the amazing response and feedback! To all the PC users out there: WINDOWS VERSION IS COMING! (Edit: IS OUT!) I have got rid of all mac dependencies in the last few months, so it should be ready for a windows build! I just need to find a windows machine to work with for a while since i don't own one myself! Unique approach to the layout, very interesting and new to have everything just sort of right there as opposed to simply availble for tweaking one track at a time as with Ableton and others. I just hope my old eyes will be able to see everything well enough as you do have to make everything small enough to fit. Looks awesome!

very VERY interesting. I have a small interface suggestion: the start of each loop is signaled by the circles at the bottom, but they could also have a little line or arrow or something moving along at the top of the timeline, so that you can see it coming when it is about to hit the playhead.

ok - I've spent a bit of time in it and it is really great thank you! I would LOVE to know the key mappings though, I've only really figured out channel assignment/start record and delete part. Would love to know overall stop button, and if there is a 'sync start' option, so when I hit record on a channel it punches in with the start of another looping channel etc. Also how are you doing your midi mapping? I can see the D&B video you are triggering record using external controller. Overall though, superb work - really impressive and ridiculously powerful. Not had any issues yet - M2 macbook air

This genuinely the most amazing concept for music software that I've seen, and is quite intuitive once you get a grasp on the visual language of it. I've always loved the concept of live looping, but turning it into a somewhat esoteric DAW with multiple effects and instruments? Outstanding!!! Only two problems are a lot of crashing after launch, (splash screen loads and Cantor window pops up for a split second before crashing.), and an odd audio buffering(?) bug where the after a loop is recorded, it directly records a 1-2 second gap of silence directly onto the loop. (happens roughly 60% of the time after launch.) (2020 M1 Mac Mini, OS12.4) Again, please don't let these bugs supersede what I wrote above, this is an absolutely beautiful recording environment and I can't wait to see it go further!

Thank you 🙏 So happy to hear other you are having fun with it! And big thanks for reporting the issues as well. The bug with the extra silence has to do with the sample rate I think! Just noticed it myself the other day when working on the pc build. Is the extra silence an even division of the part you recorded? Fx if the silence added is 3/4 of the recorded audio I think changing the sample rate to 1/4 of what it’s currently at would “fix” the problem (but ruin the audio quality of course) but that’s just the working theory. Will look into this bug as soon as I have my computer back from being repaired. The crashing on startup is a bit trickier to pinpoint. Happens more often on older computers it seems so maybe just some kind of overload from doing too much at the same time. Will do some experiments and see if I can make it load in a softer way.

Yes the silence is a division of the audio, usually ranging from 1/32 to 1/8 of the recording, which changes per launch. And, like I said it only happens about half the time. I'll try experimenting with sample rates. As far as crashing goes, the only odd thing I noticed is that, when prompted to reopen, it comes back with a "File not found" error, as if it can't locate the root application file.

I'm a former dance/circus performer, who started pivoting to composing, songwriting and street music in my 20s! My only programming experience before this was from doing game dev as a hobby and all my knowledge about DSP is self taught throughout this project!

Leaves me asking many questions about your approach to the software's design, language, libraries, etc. Don't expect you to have to answer those questions, however, definitely impressed with the outcome. @@caravincent Feel free to ask! It's all made with Max/MSP, and the approach has for the most part just been solving my own problems and adding what i need to make music in the way i want to! I started looping with pedals inspired by people like DubFX and Beardyman, but quickly realised that it would require huge sums of money and even if i could afford it it would be impossible to travel with, and would not be able to run on battery. So i started step by step figuring out how to make a software solution that would need only my laptop, and 10 years later here we are 😄For a long time i was using a mashup of different softwares and plugins that was impossible to share, but when i started learning max and realised i could make a standalone version i decided to do so. The process pf converting it, remaking all the effects and sampler etc took about 4 years, which is where i learned most of my dsp knowledge. Before it was more about designing a signal flow path and figuring out the balance between quick access and creative freedom.

@@jkRatbird Ok! Wow, never heard of MAX/MSP until now but it looks like it could be a great replacement for Reaktor. Going to have to check it out. I really enjoy VCV and there are so many modules and the source code availability for them is astounding! Slowly, but surely I'm trying to get back into making music however want to take it in a more ground-up approach and also can really appreciate your passion and drive to endure so many years of software development/trial and error. The reward looks worth it. Now you have something polished up really well that you can use and fingers crossed will go viral in the music world. Musicians tend to know where all the knobs are and what they do and generally during live performances don't have time to guess or read labels too often. Your UI is intuitive to where it could be easy for someone to work with live, even on a screen w/ mouse or touchpad. Plus the keyboard playability and assign ability is very welcome, I can assure you of that. 😉

Tbh it’s mostly made to be used with a midi controller, without looking at the screen too much. If you look at my other videos you can see how it’s premapped to work with the Quneo to basically function like a hardware looper. Understand that the visuals are really important to many people though so will add full customisation in the future so people can make their own colour schemes.
