“Cantus first performed Ola Gjeilo’s arrangement of the timeless Gregorian chant, “Ubi Caritas”, on our Christmas show a couple years back. Used to convey a feeling of reflection and remembrance, it pulled at the heart and helped move our story forward.
You might not understand the language and you may not believe the message of God’s love. But if you look past the words and allow your mind to follow our voices as they rise and fall, push and pull, you may begin to understand the power of music.”
-Cantus tenor Jacob Christopher

Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.
Congregavit nos in unum Christi amor.
Exultemus, et in ipso iucundemur.
Timeamus, et amemus Deum vivum.
Et ex corde diligamus nos sincero.
Amen.
----
Where charity and love are, God is there.
Christ's love has gathered us into one.
Let us rejoice and be pleased in Him.
Let us fear, and let us love the living God.
And may we love each other with a sincere heart.
Amen.

After following strict quarantine protocols, the artists of Cantus traveled to Decorah, Iowa in July for the first of their 2020-21 Camp Cantus workshops. While at camp, the artists are rehearsing and recording repertoire for virtual performances as all in-person concerts have been postponed due to COVID-19.
