I had a melt-down 2 days ago and started crying when I realised that all of my Canva designs I worked my ass off creating could not be printed in posters larger than A4. I feel so grateful to come across this video. It's given me hope. I am going to try this now! Fingers crossed it works.

Hi everyone there is an option when downloading to make the background transparent. The opinion seems to only come up when downloading, I saw it when doing buisness cards and then went back and downloaded my other images the same that were being printed on a banner.

This has been very helpful and solves a big problem soo that I can send something to the printer that I created. except that I don't see the horizontal and verticle DPI when I right click on the image and click on properties/details like you demonstrated in the video and PAINt will not open a PDF file so I could not check it there.After you do the conversion though, you do see the 300DPI resolution - Excellent

Hey, what if you need a transparent background?

@@jeremiahking9093 You need the pro version of Canva to create a transparent background. Otherwise, you can do it for free by downloading the image from Canva as a png, upload it to Lunapic.com > click "Edit" in the top menu > click "Transparent Background". Then follow the options to remove the background. Easier if it's one solid colour otherwise may need photoshop or photopea and use a selection tool to manually remove it. Hope that makes sense. @@LearnWithSeb I have the Canva Pro version and I can take all these suggested steps, but my design needs transparency. Canva Pro still has a totally inadequate DPI upon download and it remains at 96 dpi, so when I take my design to the print company, it is only rated as 'good' even with its automatic image adjuster, but by the time I get that image into my store, it's blurry. I'm not at all happy with the limitations of Canva in this respect.

Question: If we are using the free Canva which doesnt let you remove background, Do you know how to remove background from the saved file? is there any free way to remove background (make it transparent) while keeping the 300 dpi resolution? (Lunapic and other online websites do it for free but the resolution changes from 300 to 96 dpi). A reply or a video about that would be highly appreciated and I am sure a lot of people would be interested in such video probably. Keep up the great work

Hi Annie, thank you for your comment. Good question. Something I have to look into in more detail. You're right, the free background removers like Remove.BG, Photoscissors and Clipping Magic all offer paid upgrades to get the better quality images. The only other way I can think to maintain the 300 dpi resolution while removing the background for free would be to use a Photoshop clone like Photopea. This will involve fine tuning with the selection tool so slightly more work than the one click options. I will do a video on background removal with Photopea soon. I appreciate your suggestion. Thanks

This is all a huge learning curve for me. I have converted a book cover design from Canva to the high-res and CMYK needed, but in order to send it to the printer it needs to end up as a PDF with crop marks and bleed. How do I do that, please?
