A Bear visits the property. We've had our CANVAS WALL TENT set up for over THREE YEARS. Will a BEAR BRING THAT TO AN END? Did it steal the bees honey?

Last week I got a video on our trail cam, mom and THREE cubs! This makes the third bear sighting at our camp, one young male, one very large male with a fish and wildlife GPS collar, and now this mom and cubs.

That’s cool. Do they mess with your camp at all? I wish we had more bears around here!

The only thing they messed with, I had a spray bottle with water and peppermint extract I was spraying to keep the mice away from the deck box, I left that bottle out one weekend and I found it fifty feet from the deck covered in teeth marks. But aside from that we haven't had a problem! Will see next weekend when we go up, had another bear on the camera this morning so that makes three adult bears on the mountain this month! @@mytwelveacres3071

From my experience, the straps won't stop the bears from doing a lot of damage. An electric fence with a slammed solar charger is a really good choice. It will keep them out but if you wait until they have done the damage they may endure the fence to get back to a spot they know rewards them.

I figured the straps wouldn't stop a bear. they were really intended for smaller critters Thankfully he didn't find the hives! I'm not sure how he missed them. Thanks for watching!

I’ve heard you can pee on those and it doesn’t hurt at all!! Hahaha❤

I peed on the one in the picture just a few hours before It doesn’t bother them. Actually I think it makes them more attractive.... Im talking about the deer scrape of course lol

Thanks for the tent update I'm about to buy one, just finalizing my options on size. One question I have for you. Do you ever worry about trees or tree limbs fallin into or thru the tent?

Thanks for watching! We are surrounded by White Pines that don't really pose any danger of falling branches, but it is a good idea to keep an eye out for that sort of thing. When we are backpacking, I always check above when choosing a place to set up the tent.

Is it like living in a regular cabin or home with insulation can it be just as warm at night with a Davis tent?

With a proper sized wood stove they will heat up very fast. They will also cool down very fast. Keeping the fires going is key. So no, it’s not like an insulated home or cabin. Thanks for watching!
