I agree as it's the perfect balance for speed and climbing! Aeroad only won because of its look lol 😆

The Aeroad seat is Selle Italia SLR Boost... top of the line, highly regarded.

According to Tour Magazine, Aeroad is one of the fastest road bikes available. I have no doubt by the way mine rides.

How tall is your saddle position on the Aeroad? Mine is 760mm on a medium Aeroad. I wish I could get a small with enough seatpost😂
@Shortcuttravels4 ай бұрын
How did you measure for the 760mm? I haven't set my saddle height yet still waiting to bring it in for wax chain and new bartape
@ThurmanScottII4 ай бұрын
@@Shortcuttravels Measuring tape from the center of the BB to the top of the saddle. I’ve been thinking about waxing my chain ever since videos have been popping up on my TL. Still using archaic wet lube.

Assuming that you arent a pro rider, just a guy who wants to have a kick about with mates on the weekeend, what would be the point of buying the aeroad when you got the ultimate?
@max5519824 ай бұрын
I think they only correct answer is: Because he can.
@alfianramliАй бұрын
when you have all the money you can buy…why not buy all the bicycle models that you like and dream of…if i were same as this guy and has the money….i will buy both aeroad and ultimate too…if i plan to cycle on a day with route that has many hills and climb then i will use ultimate…if there’s a day for me to ride mostly flat road then i would use the aeroad…2 is better then 1 if you have an unlimited budget

As a bike shop owner, canyon are quick to sell bikes direct, but the issues are passed on to anyone but themselves. Support local bike shops and buy a bike that's backed up and supported. Selling direct is greed based policy being followed by other brands. I've lost count how many brand new canyon bikes roll into our shop needing assembly fix up. Thanks for considering us when purchasing. Funny we're first thought when something is wrong.

Thank you for commenting! I just wanted to share my experience and thoughts on this much debated topic: 1. I got into cycling in 2021 when no local shops had stock. Canyon had a live stock update and I was able to snag the ultimate. 2. To your point what I got as a whole was "cheaper" I looked around before buying the latest Aeroad but the price couldn't be beat and its too sexy 3. I've had no issues with all 3 of mine. But as a shop owner you would forsure see the bad! so I hear ya 4. I have spent a lot of $ at my local bike shops over servicing and buying parts.. like I have 3 different carbon saddles lol Now with that all being said you may have noticed in my video I also own a Tesla... Instead of going down that rat hole of my hate for dealerships which is not reflective of bikes shops at all. It is also direct to consumer and it wont be going back. I believe business will need to pivot

Support your local consumer by lowering your prices.

@@bluemystic7501 If you don't want service, go Canyon/ direct. That's fine. But don't turn up at a bike shop expecting service or assistance as if you'd purchased from that bike shop. That is where the issues start... Of course Canyon are cheaper, as they don't have the channel to support. If there were as many people, retailers and distributors, local support staff, buildings to operate and pay rent. tools to replace, mechanics to pay, insurance etc etc etc. Canyon don't have that. They are getting away with it currently because everyone thinks it's fine for bikeshops to take it up the backside and offer service to any bike that comes in the door and be happy with it. We have a loyal base of customers who have purchased bikes from us, and our workshop is now closed to outside parties. We just won't service Canyon or any other brand we didn't or can't sell. That means we have the time to offer our loyal customers who did buy bikes the service and backup they deserve. If you can look after your own bike and don't need LBS, fine. go a step further and get a carbon frame from a factory. build it yourself. but you're on your own. and the purchase was price reflective of that. you do get what you pay for always in the end.

@@Shortcuttravels at present, I see Canyon being able to stay direct for certain time, however the whole industry is saturated with stock currently and likely for next 2 to 3 years til it balances out. Other bigger brands are going direct, Trek and Specialized for instance. Giant going big box stores in the US. The main difference will be service. Buying online only is not going to support the LBS network, small local businesses will be gone gone. and nobody will have somewhere to take their high end race bike to get professional work done. Or if they do, it'll be super expensive labour / workshop rates. There is no business running just a workshop. It might work for smaller operators with super low overheads, but it's not something we'd do here to make a decent business. We absolutely need to sell bikes and make margin to keep lights on, and pay all the usual business costs. So getting a bit of service work for bikes we didn't sell is next to no use to us. We've shut our workshop now so only bikes we've sold or can sell, brands we can 100% support are allowed in. Our client base is stoked with it, and the level of service we offer is next level compared to the other stores in town by all accounts. people have purchased bikes from us, so they can get servicing done here with us. It's just my partner and I running a small shop in a small town. 4 LBS in our town, but we sell $100k plus bikes every month. That's where the business is at. Plenty good brands and amazing prices at the moment. most of our brands are close or better than Canyon. We stock Cervelo, Focus, Orbea, Orange, Trek, Haro, Voodoo, NOX, Haibike, KTM, Gepida, Cube. Because like you, we started this business in late 2020. we had to get lots of brands to secure supply if only a dribble. works out good now! deals going everywhere. Suppliers are throwing bikes at us to put on the floor, and it's working well. IMHO, Canyon whilst amazing bikes, need to somehow incentivize bike shops to push and support their product. Otherwise... I gotta do the opposite. that's the game.
