Canyoning trip to Manikia Central Evia , on Sunday 16 06 2024

Greece is a place with many hidden natural beauties known only to lovers of exploration and adventure. One of them is the Manikiatis waterfall in Evia. It is located close to the village of Manikia and is unknown to most people. In order to reach the waterfall, one has to walk for about 1 hour along a relatively passable path.
The hike in the direction of the Manikiati river starts 4 kilometers before the village of Manikia coming from Neochori. Along the path there is marking with red marks painted by the locals on the rocks. As you go, the initial, distinct path becomes an abstract path between the rocks, but without any significant technical difficulty. The scenery is constantly changing while the trail crosses the river at several points. The hike takes place in an amazing natural environment with abundant water, waterfalls and pedestals. After about 50 minutes the first lake appears. But the journey does not end there. Continuing a little further, hidden behind the rocks is an impressive waterfall, 25 meters high, created by a cliff along the river. In front of it is a deep platform that is suitable for swimming and a natural hydromassage since you can sit down and enjoy the cool water that falls from above.
The visit to the waterfall can be combined with a trip to one of the many beautiful beaches of Evia.
