There is only a very slight amount of curvature at that altitude. But Dwayne Kellum's weather balloon footage without a fish eye lens showed a very slight but definite curvature. And the MESOS amateur rocket launch that went way higher than any weather balloon showed curvature.

Nobody claims 8 inches of curvature. That is an approximation of the curvature and is based in miles squared which has nothing to do with curvature. Its also a parabola if you graph it. Stellar way to show you don't know what you're talking about.

Okay that's somewhat of a valid point as far a long distances go, but what about the fact that you can't find any curvature on the horizon whatsoever standing from any altitude in the planet that matches this supposed approximation!!!!!!!! What is so difficult to comprehend about that? Even if the formula is off, let's say it falls short by - 1/2 Do you agree that 12 Miles is a short distance? Good, even with a -50% margin of error, a 12 mile span should have 576 feet of curvature! That is not observable anywhere in the planet. Depending on how high you're standing (obviously the higher you go the longer the horizon line gets) the horizon line can measure hundreds of miles in length? Explain why we don't see the supposed amount of curvature we're supposed to see? Don't mention NASA pics I'm talking about what we see with our own eyes when we fly in airplanes/high altitude balloon footage. You seemed somewhat smart.(well not really) but Why are you afraid to use your brain? Do you belong to any organization / fraternity? This is the only even slightly plausible explanation for a sunset on FE, otherwise the sun would either fizzle out in the sky or disappear of which it does neither. A theodolite can be used to measure the angle of the horizon and prove you wrong but there is an even easier way. If you stand at the foot of a mountain the horizon is way above your eye level, if you stand at the top it is way below. Get on a plane and look at the horizon, it is below your eye level. I think someone has shown you a high altitude video with the camera pointing at the horizon and you have all said 'Oh yEa, DaT iS eYe lEvEl' You all repeat the same claim that a 10 year old would laugh at. If the Earth is flat then why do objects disappear beneath the horizon? Why is the horizon visibly below eye level at the cruising altitude of major airliners? How does the Sun and Moon set? (If they were local then they would still never set and would change size drastically over the course of a day) How can somebody in Africa look south and see the same exact stars as someone in South America looking south? How are there two celestial poles? Why does the MESOS amateur rocket launch which went way higher than any weather balloon show curvature? How does gravity work? (Buoyancy and density can't just replace gravity) How does navigation on an extremely distorted Southern hemisphere work?

@@msidc1238 imagine sitting in some sort of small aircraft facing out towards the point where the ships are apparently going over the horizon, with the earth curvature calculator in mind, as you rise up and fly over the vanishing point the curve or drop if you will doesn’t continue, it’s flat beyond that point. So it must be like they say the laws of perspective ( which as far as I can tell is worked of a flat plane, not a curved globe) swell and other visual and atmospheric phenomena are coming in to play.

Pretty impressive how the earth appears slightly curved but when the camera pans upward around the 1:10 mark, the horizon bends severely in the opposite direction. Keep watching and you’ll see when they cut the cord on balloon #2 the horizon goes bonkers. The Camera lens is obviously distorting the image, unless you really believe the horizon actually does that crazy bending back and forth and that the camera just happened to catch it happening live. But something tells me no one believes that. I must conclude, using my common senses that the slight downward bend is achieved from a slightly downward pointing camera because when the camera is tilted upward, the bend reverses itself and the horizon bends upward like a U shaped horizon. Thank you for all involved , this is helpful in confirming that the horizon is horizontal, and not actually bending

Even at the height of the iss it's only about 250 miles up and you'll have about 1500 miles of view in each direction, enough to clearly see the earth rotate below you and a definite curve. Here's a thought, in every balloon video, whether they show a flat or curved horizon. They all have a common aspect. The distance to the horizon is the same on every side. If earth was a platter and you launched it at the southern tip of Chile you would have a shorter horizon South than North. North should stretch on for an incredibly mind-blowing distance. But the horizon is always equidistant - consistent with a sphere, not a disc. If you were wanting to prove that it's a disc do it at the bottom of Chile. Haven't ever seen one of those, have you. Also ask if we have all these abilities, where is the high altitude photo showing any edge. Can you truly say no one in the flat earth community has the ability to get that shot?
