Capacitors - again! Krell KSA100S Amplifier

Best sounding tone capacitors are United Chemi-con series KYB. Avoid resistors that have magnetic leads, end caps or the actual resistive element is magnetic, sound becomes aggressive with odd order harmonics and smearing.

Thank you for your concern. All of these capacitors are in power supply roles and does not contribute to the tone in any way. The KSA100S is a low distortion instrument by means of architecture.

@@elektrickerybydee Oh but it does, power supply caps do affect the sound quality, particularly in the tone (the frequency response is flat but talking about certain frequencies having less damping and giving impression of sounding louder) and openness. I have done many experiments with multiple brands and series in those brands. High dissipation factor electrolytic caps found in some high grade audio caps suppress the sound (very damped and dead sounding) like the Nichicon Gold Tune caps. Rubicon caps tend to be aggressive sounding in the mids and highs i.e. bright. Panasonic FC series have a clearer sound, but a bit aggressive sounding in the mids. Best caps I came across are the KYB series from Untied Chemi-con.
