Unboxing and review of the Standard Model Plus Vol 23. It's a pretty decent set with Gore Magala stealing the show & Garangolm to finish off the 3 lords! We get 4 new molds for Astalos, Seregios "Steve", Garangolm, and Gore Magala and 2 repaints for Aurora Somnacanth and Magma Almudron. The quality and paint apps are pretty similar quality to Vol 22 and Capcom wised up and protected the logo stickers with plastic!

That Gore Magala looks amazing. So tempted to buy this set

It really looks awesome. It's a decent set, not the best, and not sure if it's worth it just to get Gore. OR...You could gamble and wait a little and see if it shows up in "The Best Of" set. Capcom just showed pics of the upcoming "Best of Vol. 19*20*21 featuring Magnamalo (19), Tetranadon (19), Goss Harag (20), Narwa (21), Ibuchi (21), and Valstrax (21). My predictions for Best of 22,*23*24 are: Malzeno (22), Lunagaron (22), Garangolm (23), Gore Magala (23), Espinas (24), and Shagaru Magala (24). I'd be a bit disappointed if Capcom chose otherwise. :).

Delivery for both vol 22 and 23 will arrive this weekend for me and I'm beyond excited. They did a good job with astalos and gore I see. I also have the creator model for gore but this builder version also looks really cool with the pose.

Awesome! Enjoy the figures. I’m looking to open my Creators Gore soon. And yes, Astalos is a really good looking one. Wish the colors on its wings were a little better, though.

Has anyone else who picked up this set had major paint qc issues with the detachable gore magala’s wing? Mine doesn’t look like it got any of the black lining paint except for around the edges.

I just found out Monster Hunter Rise is releasing on console at the end of January. That’s a great way to celebrate. I have barely touched that game because I HATE playing on portable, but now that it’s here on PS5 I can play it to my heart’s content. I’m gonna have quite a lot of catching up to do, I reckon

Thanks for commenting! It’s bittersweet for me…as a consumer, I feel swindled. Capcom knew they were gonna release it for PS5/4, etc. having to buy it again doesn’t sit well with me.

@@dotdecorandmore7480 i do understand your POV, and I do share it to an extent. I can’t help but still be happy about this, though. And besides, we could give Capcom the benefit of the doubt. They genuinely may not have expected so many people to be upset about Rise being a PC/Switch exclusive. Maybe a console version wasn’t in their plans? These developers are worthy of our trust as consumers and fans, it’s not like we’re talking about some shady development studio or publisher. Also, no need to thank me for commenting :)

I did the exact same thing with my regular Almudron and its stand, using the little "arm" to keep its tail away from his face and letting the whisker stretch out in the tail's gaps! The volume looks really nice, I ordered mine and now it's just a matter of patience. In my opinion Garangolm and Astalos are the best ones, not that Almudron and Somnacanth are bad but they're just reskins. Seregios is the least appealing of the bunch due to its face, while Magala has this pretty boring color palette with the nice shades of blue and purple being hidden due to its posture.

Great minds think alike! I can get over Seregio’s face because of the action pose. But Astalos has really grown on me after taking its picture. Thanks for always supporting!

No problem man! I really like your way of presenting the figures, the commentary on the assembling, the small details and the paint jobs is very useful. Most people just showcase the figures but your all rounded explanation is really useful for those who are still considering buying the figures, it's like a further "quality check".
