Man, they may have been knocked out but Halibel and Snake Eyez were my MVPs. That Manon at the end was chef's kiss. Also. Leshar really said fuck your Group F predictions lmao. What a performance. Ending Walker and Valmaster finishing bottom of their groups has to be the biggest shock. BigBird and Travis missing out on qualification by a game is brutal. Not counting secondaries, its now 5 Lukes, 3 Kens, 2 DJs, 2 Juris, 1 JP, 1 Rashid, 1 Chun. 1 Guile. In terms of nations its 3 Japan, 3 US, 2 Korea, 1 China, 1 Hong Kong, 1 Taiwan, 1 Norway, 1 Singapore, 1 DR, 1 Canada, 1 Mexico. 9/16 being Asian says everything about that region.

@gotaku1826 the groups stage was a round-robin style tournament and everyone plays each other once. Fuudo had to go 0-2 in his matches and Snake had to go 2-0 in both his matches in order to clutch the 2nd spot in his group. Snake managed to win both his match handedly and fuudo lost the first set 0-2 but dominated Sameol 2-0 securing his spot and droping Snake out. edit: this was today specifically based off where they stood at the start.

They really screwed up on Day 3. They were only playing JP, Jamie, Marisa, Kimberly, Zangief and Ken's themes at specific times, like JP's will play every time the player "Versus" screens would come up, Marisa's when they were "chatting," sometimes only for 5 seconds because it'd abruptly get cut off and they'd show the current standings, where Jamie's theme played every time. It was redundant as hell. I don't even remember LCQ or Day 1 and 2 doing this. Also, RIP headphone users because volume got blasted when select themes started playing. Seemed like they were all pre-recorded because most of the time it wasn't even fixed afterwards.

People in the FGC love complaining. 😂 Lack of character diversity? There's a lot of Lukes, Kens, Dee Jay, Juri, Cammys, Guile and JPs. That's already a lot compared to many fighting games of the past. Plus Chun Li, Blanka and others have proved they're good enough to hang with the top characters. MK9 only had Kabal in SSS tier pretty much. Super turbo was dominated by Sagat. SF4 was dominated by Akuma and Ibuki vortexes at one point, then Evil Ryu / Seth, then Elena and her Healing. Tekken had seasons where only a couple of characters were dominant. I'm just saying SF6 players don't realize how good they have it. :) No question they'll buff and nerf many characters but people are exagerrating about the game's "imbalance".
@imjust_a10 ай бұрын
Yeah the whining is crazy. By the end of group stages, 80% of the cast was represented at least once (Aki, Lily, Jamie, and Edmund did not show as far as I was watching). The only groups that really had issues with "its all the same characters" were A, D and E, with E being almost entirely Dee Jay mirror matches. The fact that Snake Eyez almost made it through, and that GGHalibel absolutely crushed as Manon shows that while the characters aren't optimal (and definitely need buffs), they aren't entirely unviable. I'd say that's a pretty good year 1 balance! Likewise, the matches have been entertaining. Yeah, group E had a ton of Dee Jays, but there were some really tense matches to watch from that group. Shouldn't that be what we want as spectators? Edit: someone mentioned that Lily was played at least once, so that increases the number of character representation.

sorry guys but there's a reason why there are so many ken/luke/jp/deejay players at ccx, and that reason is that they're top of the meta. part of that has to do with balancing issues, so from that point of view yes the game is indeed unbalanced at the moment. 80% of the roster may have been represented but there are only 18 characters currently and most of that 80% were played sparingly, some only once by guys who knew they were already eliminated. on day 2 75% of the matches featured one of the four characters mentioned above. day 3 and there were only 6 matches that didn't feature luke, ken, jp or deejay. 6 matches out of 40, so the diversity has actually gone down. sorry but it's not "whining" to state that you find it boring watching the same small group of high meta characters over and over again, respect to anyone not playing luke/ken/jp/deejay

@nickjackalson So the part you clueless scrubs are missing is that you shouldn't want a truly balanced fighting game. If SF6 was "balanced" it would mean... LESS diversity. That's like Tekken: every character has the tools required to compete. When that happens you don't end up with more diversity, you end up with 1-2 characters doing stuff better than the others. And that's inevitable unless every character has the exact same move set and frame data, which would be even more boring. What you want is what SF6 has done, which is universal mechanics + giving each character a unique style. Yes they should probably nerf Dee Jay, Luke, Ken and JP. But if they do that AND buff the low tier characters, that won't change anything, it will just change who's top now. So instead of seeing Luke, JP and Dee Jay you'll see Lily, Kimberly and Ryu all the time. Is that better? Nope. So the real solution to this "diversity problem" is to shutup, sit down and grind your character to push their limits. Like SnakeEyes is doing. I know he didn't make it out of his group, but he still proved that Zangief can be a beast if you put time into the character. SF4 was full of character specialists from around the world. They didn't care about tier lists, they picked a character they liked and mastered it. So even 6 years into the game we still saw El Fuerte and Hakan pros owning people up in tournaments. That's not because Capcom buffed those characters, it's purely because people sticked with their favorites and kept discovering new tricks and setups with them. You're not supposed to treat the tierlist like it's gospel. You should try to prove why the tierlist is wrong.

@@wolfgangrecordings it's wild to call a game where someone can take a character that's deemed "bottom tier" (Zangief) and almost make it out of their group (Snake Eyez) "unbalanced." I don't think anyone is denying there are balancing issues that need to be addressed, but it's the extent that you guys are taking it that over exaggerates the issue. Also your numbers are bonk. Your numbers assume that each player and character played once every day. Some players had multiple matches every day. Some players played multiple times a day, so of course that character will be represented more for that day. I also like that the narrative has gone from "it's the same 3 characters" to "it's the same 4 characters." There's not even that many JP's in the tournament but you threw that into your example. In fact, there's just as many Juri's if I recall. So is that "the same 5 characters now?" Ultimately, if you have so much spite and vitriol towards the situation, just don't watch. Balancing changes are around the corner, so I really don't know what you're even bothering to complain about. Just come back next year, there's no point in complaining about something that's already happening as if they can just pull out players from the tournament or release a balance patch right now. I've been enjoying the matchups, but I care more about the *players* and their stories than I do the characters they play. Maybe consider taking a different approach to watching it? Anyway this is the KZbin comments section. We both know arguing here is pointless because we both have our ears closed to each other.

Did Samoel even try? Or did he just not give a fuck because he was already eliminated from Capcom Cup? That was easily and obviously the worst match so far. If the latter, then that's losing respect for not trying in order to give Snake Eyez a chance.

What were you expecting samoel got cooked by everyone

They are not at the same league period. Sure a lot of regional champions are underdogs we shouldn’t underestimate like at all, but Samoel is one of these guy that are just not good enough and only qualified due to easy region plus easy blanket.

lol if he didn't try against Fuudo he wasn't trying against Snake Eyez either dummy.

@KayaMazule it's supposed to be every man for themselves. In a round robin tournament. If Capcom found out that he indeed did that. They can disqualify both of them. That's a form of cheating.
