Thanks bro. Never had a van staal that’s first time trying out a bailess reel so I was really just trying it out. I love it. It’s the fast retrieve 50 inches per turn. Smooth. Let’s see how it goes with it for 2023. 🎣🎣🎣

Nice video!! My gf just got me the 300 for Christmas. Never fished a staal or bailess before. I’ve used Stella’s, saltiness but I wanted something more durable. I’m stuck between which rod to choose. What did you end up going with?

I also never finished a van staal till I got this one. It was practice day for me. I fish daiwa Saltiga. I went with a ODM jigster for the canal

Well I had the drag loose cause it was my first time using it bailless and I didn’t want to lose my rod so I kept it loose. I was thinking maybe it could be the braid. I’m using power pro braid regular. Don’t know I usually use my Saltiga and that’s quiet.

@@oskee007striperlife ya I like it got a limaglas ss rod for it but torn between van staal or a Stella but hear the van stall won't cast as far as the Stella or a saltiga would I'm also fishing the cape cod canal also I typically use conventional reels but just want to carry a nice spinning rod around again also

Get a daiwa Saltiga in my opinion it’s better than a Stella. Bigger gear fatter bail better power knob it’s just a bad ass reel. I tried a Stella and I didn’t like it. Saltiga feels more solid.

I was testing out the new van staal that was my first fish on it got 3 snagged like that. I never fish with loose drag. I was just trying out the bailless reel and trying to get a feel for it.
