Great video mate ! I’m an hour away from the canal so much planning is involved. You are very articulate and know your stuff..This is 2019 •••caught your 50 pounder yet ?? You deserve it ..You could try a catch/ cook 👩🍳 once in your life.. Tight lines and crimped barbs ..LOL

bob peck thank you very much! I live 4 hours from there so whenever I’m down there I try to learn as much as I can to give other people new and better ways to catch fish! My best is a 42lb fish but I lost a fish of a lifetime last summer which broke my heart, I’m heading down there July 2nd and will be there for a few days, hope to see you there, FISH ON!!!!

The 200 is the most versatile reel just not a canal reel personally speaking... I use the 275 hands down
@gethookedtv67805 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know, not enough line on it for optimal casting, 250 is the perfect size in my opinion
@edwardegnor88126 жыл бұрын
Ya I think from island beach state park north is best at the moment I’m in the AC area and it’s just starting up here if you have a boat and hit the 3 mile line with mojo’s
@deanpetrie70265 жыл бұрын
is your sp minnow floating or sinking, and what’s the design on the yozuri mag darter?
@gethookedtv67805 жыл бұрын
It sinks on retrieve, the mag darter has magnets inside that move to the back when you cast to make it longer casting and when it hits the water it moves to the middle for good action

What size magic swimmers do you use for the canal? the 9 inch seems huge.
@gethookedtv67806 жыл бұрын
ben franklin 9 inch is perfect for targeting big bass, depends on the rod you use too if it's able to withstand the weight of the lure. Normally match the hatch, if there is small bait then go smaller but magic swimmer hardware is very cheap so be sure to take out the back hook and leave to front on, I lost a 40 pound bass because it split my magic swimmer in half! If you want to catch big bass then use the magic swimmer 9 inch even with small bait around they will still hit it. If you want to go a bit deeper and need more distance then the sp minnow will get the job done.
@1414bdub6 жыл бұрын
GetHookedTV thanks for the quick response. I have a rod rated 2-6 oz. will that work ?

How do you keep eel alive at night?
@gethookedtv67806 жыл бұрын
Never put them in a bucket, slime constantly comes out of their body and can thicken up and eventually, kill the eel, I use a fabric bag with plenty of small holes to keep from the slime from building up and it’s easier to grab them, you can find those in your local market (Walmart etc..) and they stay alive pretty much all night from there, it’s difficult to care for your eels but it’s the ticket to getting monster 40-50-60lb bass. Hope this helped thanks for checking out my video! FISH ON!!
@wildman86015 жыл бұрын
Put them in them bags n keep them in the water as much as possible especially on them hot humid nights

Ur sp minnow mack and blurp u throwing floaters or stinkers
@gethookedtv67805 жыл бұрын
They float, but the lip makes them sink on the retrieve
@wildman86015 жыл бұрын
@@gethookedtv6780 yea I know the lips do that i just wondered about the sinking sp minnows if they were worth it on the canal. How do you feel about fishing non moon tides
@gethookedtv67805 жыл бұрын
Wild Man the sinking minnows suck when it comes to action in the canal big waste of money, but the non moon tides you would have to GRIND to catch fish like I mean going spot to spot and trying many different things to even catch one fish, I mainly favor the new moon tides because those bring in the most bait in, hope this helps FISH ON!

@@gethookedtv6780 yea hey the advice you gave in the videos was great man and I live in new york and would rather plan trips to ccc accordingly for the best timing. Now one last question AII If a nee moon was say on a Wednesday would u start fishing it days before it days after it or just that day like how do you go about that you didnt explain that in any videos well least I didnt see

Id never use a metal lip in the canal evaaaahhhhh and grab yourself a gears up bag
@gethookedtv67807 жыл бұрын
Mud Draggers T.v why shouldn't I use a metal lip? I caught many fish on it, just cast it pretty far up current and you are good to go, it it gets past you then the action starts to get pretty bad.
