Europeans, probably Basquee had been coming to the Gulf of Maine and Gulf of St Lawrence for sometime. When they came ashore for fresh water, natives were happy to trade. But after a reasonable period, they would show up in force, and made clear that it was time to go

I know I'm being picky, but both narrators mangle a number of place and person names. Maybe it's just me, but it's really annoying.
