Nice vlog . . . .I'm going to book my 2nd trip out to Cape Verde in the last 17 months, tomorrow. Like the last trip I will flying down from here in the Netherlands, then staying in Santa Maria (RIU Palace) for a week. I thought about going to Boa Vista, but also thought the beaches on Boa Vista were no where as good as in Santa Maria - but the Boa Vista beach in this vid looks OK. Like the last trip, I'm going to do NOTHING apart from walk on the beach. Normally in the past I would head off to the Caribbean, but unlike the Caribbean I have no family in Africa, so no fam hassles. Cape Verde is beautiful and perfect if you want no drama, just peace, quiet and truly stunning beaches.

Hello lovely, did you notice any flies around the buffet or anything about food poisoning? My family have book 11 days in July and as a person with severe anxiety from a fear of sick - i'm so terrified! xx

Heyy no not at all, I was wondering the same before I went too because I did some research on tiktok and everyone was talking about food poisoning and flies haha but just confirming we were completely fine, the food selection was great & always kept clean! ☺️

What did you think about the food at the hotel? Can you write the excursions you did? Were there any shops to buy stuff?

Hey yeah ofc so, the hotel food had a wide range of cuisines & it was well kept, I just wish they had a veggie section or even an alternative for pork like Turkey rashers as i don’t eat pork. But other than that, no complaints. The excursions; Horse riding - 1hr trip, really enjoyed 10/10 (suggest taking coins to tip the staff) Sunset dinner - lovely to see the culture, really enjoyed lovely vibes. 9/10 because it was quite a long evening, kind of dragged out but fab time. Catamaran - decent excursion & enjoyed, the staff was really friendly. Only thing that put me off was the staff not being aware of the people in the water during snorkelling. 7/10. We barely saw shops as we only left the hotel for the excursions. The hotel has a couple, i only went in one which sold snacks etc. hope that helps!

Ah you’ll love it! I can’t for the life of me remember the exact prices but they ranged £30-70pp I think horse riding was the cheapest ☺️

I’ve just checked on the Tui app the sunset dinner is £54pp, horse riding is 39pp and the catamaran is £51pp

That is no way a 5 star hotel, it actually looks like a 2 star. The bathroom is not good at all.

Really angry, at the resort now, yesterday when the donkeys came on the beach this one security guard who works for the hotel chased them away, they was so scared when they saw him they ran. Then today while I was feeding the skinny sick looking one, the same security guard walked up to the donkey and kicked him twice. Me and my wife had a go at him, but he was just smiling and laughing saying he's allowed to and that the donkeys not allowed here. He didn't care. We went to reception. The manager refused to speak to us, despite walking past us in the reception area, but we came back later and the reception staff said the manager spoke to the security guard who claims he only pushed the donkey that was all. Complete lier and despite us witnessing it and other guests on the beach, they are doing nothing about it. I even reported that the donkeys looked sick and in need of attention. They claim they have let someone know, but can't say who. I insisted on speaking to the manager, so the staff member again went to the manager and came back saying we had an appointment with the other manager at 7pm. Fuming. They claim to care about animals yet doing nothing about this. That guy will carry on hurting the donkeys. This is not acceptable
