The soundtrack is a masterpiece of classical Cape Verdean American music, and is a soundtrack used in many SPIA Media Productions.

My mother is 95 years old and first born generation born in Usa has all but forgotten everything. Listening to Flash and Vicky has brought her to life. She sings and claps her hands as she sings along. Thank you fir giving her such happiness.

Excellent video. Love me "my Cape Verdean music". It is ingrained in my DNA, Listening to this took me down memory lane In New Bedford MA always listening to Cape Verdean music of Morna, Coladiera and Marzurka during my era. We were not hearing Funana, Tabanka, Batuque etc .New Bedford MA had so many Cape Verdean Clubs playing CV music that you could hop from one place to another like Band Club, United Social Club, Bomb Shelter, Nova Sintra, Mato Grande. CV Mariners Club, VFW Hall and others. Live Cape Verdean Music everywhere. Not to even mention the live Jam Sessions. Thanks for the memories.

My father is John l Correia jr the maraca player, what an amazing man! The violin player is my god father John Duarte. Cape Verdean music is the most beautiful music in the world. I'm blessed that my father is such a great part in its history here in New Bedford and Rhode Island.

The first song was 'Sodade,' made famous by the late, world famous, Cesaria Evora. The song was made popular by her but she did not write it. The writers were Amandio Cabral and Luis Morais. These are world class musicians, do yourself a favor and give their music a listen. You can do it right here on KZbin.
