I really appreciate that you don't add background music to your videos, and your content is always of very high quality! Thank you!

Love it Brian! I have learned so much from your videos. I dream of building one of your boats someday... but I'll start with a Greenland paddle :)

With the exception of the Lc.148 - this is my favorite of all of the qajaqs in Harvey's KoG book. My size 11 feet hate it, though.

Would you ever consider actually demonstrating how to hunt with a Greenland style kayak? Ya know, maybe you could do a video of you harpooning a Teddy Bear or a stuff sack full of bacon of something... That would be totally COOL! 🤣

Kevin, check out the Greenland Kayak Competition. They have a harpoon throwing event that is pretty much what you described.

@@geebee3d Hi WWW, I know, I've watched them before, they're amazing! I was really just sorta teasing Brian's playful side to see if he would respond!

I could fit into this one (but 10.5 feet/32"). I could love the speed and the handling and rolling. Who doesn't love the looks of this boat?! BUT, I'm planning to build an F1 and the WG2.0 first. And probably a canoe or two. But that's just me. Here's what I'm wondering, since the "revision" of your WG design turned out so nicely, have you given much thought to doing a similar "upscaling/optimizing" with this boat as you did the WG? I know you've got a ton going on right now-but it's fun to think of future projects. We know that no design was standard and that tweaking a boat for the paddler's needs and ideas and constant rebuilds are simply a part of the history of these craft. Bench copies of extant examples are only single snapshots into any boat of that day/region.

My very first time in a kayak was with a very similar craft. I couldn't believe the speed I could achieve. The shore line was zooming past me as if I was riding a bike on water. Since that day, I can't step back into a canoe.

what shape should the kayak be so i can go the longest distanse possible in any weather
@capefalconkayak2 жыл бұрын
The best answer to this question is just to go and watch the F1 in detail video. I designed that kayak for me to be comfortable in for extremely long days on the water. The whole cockpit is designed around being comfortable and basically living out there on the water and it is very efficient at the speeds that you can actually maintain over very very long distances.
