This is really a stupid, stupid idea.... What really should have happened is that all white people who refuses to live in Africa, should have been offered the option to be repatriated to their countries of origin, even if this was 300 years ago. Those who opted to stay, would have had to make peace that they had to become "Africanized" and had to assimilate fully into Africa... That means "mixing" where they live, love, be entertained, shop and relax.... In my opinion, we can still do this. The EU need to take in people who has their origin in Europe and refuses to assimilate in Africa. Their property will obviously be forfeited to the state, who will then distribute this to poor people...

Polling done for the cape independence advocacy group has support sitting at 58% with a standard deviation of 5%. It's not a fringe movement.

Lol at "polling". This "polling" is claimed before every election and the party advocating this issue gets less than 1% of the vote, essentially all white minority. It's a settler-baron class *fringe* movement.

When you can’t win an election because you refuse to cater to the majority of citizens so you threaten to secede. Edit: governing in the interest of a few to repress the interests of the many does and running an economically viable state with a strong labor market and diverse industries are two different things.

That is exactly the point. The majority of citizens in South Africa are black. The majority of citizens in the Western Cape are colored with a significant minority of whites. Maybe people with different identities and cultures simply have different interests than the rest of the country.

@agrid2608 I'm referring to western cape colored, those are the majority. Not Asians. The DNA wins in the Western Cape because they win the majority of the colored who don't see the ANC as in their interests. The ANC has long stopped caring about most of the electorate in the Cape. So it's natural that regionalism among those voters is high.

I would love to see Tswana, Xhosa, Zulu and Sesotho and Swazi states. English South Africans in the Eastern parts of SA are remnants colonial administration, Boers are settlers, and I respect settlers more because they are there for some sort of nation building, not globalist, stateless, atheist managerial class.

Maybe you didn't know the billionaire Oppenheimer founded, owns and controls the South African Reserve Bank with old-money wealth private shareholders, that controls the South African economy with the forever rigged ZAR currency tied to the economic hitman currency US dollar. Cape Independence has Oppenheimer as their silent investors.

A pity your "'biased"' journalist did not give the views of those whose ancestors have been in the Western Cape for nearly 400 years to 2000 years rather than the views of 2 people whose people as a group came into the Western Cape fairly recently (many over just the last 30 years since the country was set free), this to flee/escape from the rest of mismanaged ANC South Africa.
