Interestingly, this video is primarily just downtown proper, which is barely 1 square mile. Maybe for a brief moment near the end, the video takes us just beyond the official boundaries into an edge neighborhood on the east side, but it's mostly a video that takes you to different parts of downtown. Like most (once tiny) fast growing Sunbelt cities, Raleigh has plenty of new sprawl, but this area represents the core of the city that was planned out hundreds of years ago. While it's not terribly evident in the video itself, the core of the city is undergoing rapid transformation with hundreds of residential units continuously being delivered. The city is also one that lives primarily under a broad tree canopy like other cities in the Southeast.
