Yes...if your income does not exceed 250000 p.a then you don't need to file itr until and unless you are selling your property or ltcg .....if ltcg hai toh itr file karna mandatory hai

Thanks for in depth knowledge about capital gain tax. I have a query. I bought flat in june 1987 for 1,25,000. I further paid EMIs worth rs.1,56,000 upto 2000. Again paid Emis rs.2,00,000 upto 2011 and spent about 5,00,000 on home improvement. Sold flat in june 2023 for 45,00,000. What will be my capital gain? Can i take market value of flat 2000 year since cii revised in 2001. Coolectorate was rs. 32,50,000 in 2023. Can i take this amount as a price of flat or cii formulae. Pl guide for zero tax since i donot want to but any property.
