The river actually was very polluted at one time due to the paper mills but the state eventually cleaned it up. Augusta is a beautiful town, eventually people in the rest of the states will find out.

Augusta is not a half bad city. It’s dangerous by Maine standards, which is a snow pea compared to the rest of the country right now.

What a good way to describe the social atmosphere! Having been to much larger and chaotic places, if Augusta was the one of Maine’s most “dangerous” cities, then I’d say that this state has a lot going in its favor.

Yeah, the problem was just how expensive any of the campgrounds were around the Bar Harbor/Acadia area, or anywhere in Downeast during the month of August. I was already spending more than I wanted, but I aim to try again this coming year
