The manner in which capitalism is practiced in Nigeria is extremely hawkish, inconsiderate and without any welfarist consideration at all. That's why we have banks that will charge citizens on every transaction possible. Nigeria has many academically inclined individuals but not many have read outside the discipline of their professions.

I respect Seun greatly, but I believe some of his arguments against Capitalism may not align with the facts. One example he mentioned is China, which is often used as a case study for the success of a mixed economy. While China may not have the same level of political freedom as some Western countries, it has embraced elements of a free market and economic freedom, which have played a crucial role in its remarkable economic growth. As someone living and working in Hong Kong as an Auditor, I can attest to the ease of doing business in China and the absence of significant restrictions. This favorable business environment has undoubtedly contributed to China's economic success. However, it is essential to note that China's economic system is not purely capitalist or socialist but rather a unique blend of both. It combines free-market principles with elements of state intervention and control. One of the core criticisms of Capitalism is that it can lead to the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a few individuals or corporations. This can occur when politicians grant special privileges or protection to business people they favor or are connected with. Such actions undermine competition and can distort the principles of a free market. In this sense, when an individual is unable to compete in an industry due to unfair advantages given to specific individuals or companies, it can indeed resemble a form of socialism. However, it is important to distinguish between crony capitalism, where political connections and favors distort the market, and genuine free-market capitalism. True capitalism promotes competition, innovation, and economic growth by allowing individuals and businesses to succeed based on merit and efficiency rather than political connections. Regarding the situation in Nigeria, it is understandable that you have concerns about the lack of competition and the role of the state in supporting certain individuals or businesses, Seun Dangote being protected by Obasenjo and the Nigeria state is not capitalism but Socialim in disguise. This kind of intervention can hinder economic progress and perpetuate inequality. However, it is crucial to recognize that a truly capitalist system would ideally be based on fair competition and equal opportunities for all participants. While socialism has its own set of ideals, it has been historically challenging to implement successfully in practice. Examples like India, which experienced sudden growth, demonstrate the limitations of purely socialist approaches. However, it is worth noting that India's recent growth can also be attributed to economic reforms and increased integration with the global market. In conclusion, it is important to strike a balance between the free market and necessary regulations to ensure fair competition and equal opportunities for all participants. Capitalism, when practiced with integrity and a commitment to competition, can be a powerful driver of economic growth and prosperity. However, it requires a vigilant and well-functioning regulatory framework to prevent abuses and promote a level playing field.

When considering the Nigerian economy and the best way to move forward, I believe the first step is for us, as a people, to decide if we want to be a unified nation. Afterwards, we should examine the economic policies implemented by Lee Kuan Yew in Singapore, which helped lift the country out of poverty. We can then explore how these policies could be adapted to suit Nigerian society. However, it is essential to note that the political class and elites may resist change, so we, the ordinary people, must organise ourselves and make it politically advantageous for those in government to make the right decisions. But first and foremost, as a united people, we must determine if we truly want to be a nation. I can list some of Lee’s economic policies but let me not bore people, I love and respect Seun so much and whenever I listen to your father I'm surprised we didn't listen to him, he warned us about all this thief thief politicians.

Quote me anywhere. All you've said is just the normal text book explanations of capitalism attributing it to free-market. There is no free market anywhere. This is one of the greatest lies ever told that free market exist. Free market exist only as a concept and is not practiced anywhere on earth today.
