It was considered “ghetto” and “uncouth” for the longest now that the dominant culture has fully adopted it into popular culture (as they always do) now its “streetwear”. Like Baby Phat velour tracksuits and shades and big chunky hoop earrings weren’t a whole era in the hood “ghetto” before everyone else adopted that swag.
