Following the tragic death of George Floyd and the earth-shattering impact of the Black Lives Matter movement, a new initiative was sparked by So Solid Crew member, Swiss - and it’s a game-changer.
Founded by Swiss, Black Pound Day encourages everyone to spend their money within Black-owned businesses on the first Saturday of every month, empowering those within the Black community and fighting marginalisation.

I love how some people don't get the irony in this. This just comes from racism, viewing black businesses as less and that in a white majority country people will need to come and save the black person also known as a white knight. If your business needs these virtue-signalling initiatives then you're obviously running your business wrong. It also implies that anyone that doesn't shop at your business has a racial bias. A great product will sell, regardless of colour.

That is both tight and wrong at the same time. In some cases they may not be marketing themselves well. Hut on the other hand some people do need the promotion. Majority of Asians will naturally go to an Asian store, while all the others may just do whatever. But for the most part the black store will be the most overlooked. And it may be that they can't yet compete with some of the more established ones but even without that, some of us would unconsciously not even think of a black. (Believe it or not some black owners stay in the background and allow others to run the business)

Believe it or not but I know some black business owners that literally stay out of sight and allow other colors to run the show) Because it is something we do unconsciously. When there is a white, Asian and a black store, it is a fact that Asians will naturally go to the store that they relate to. But it is also a fact that the black store will be overlooked by the majority. (that is easy to see) we do it without thinking

Nothing wrong with that if it is needed. But before saying that it is not that hard to figure out why they're helping a blk business Your very wrong Whenever there is a white, Asian or a black store, it is a fact that Asians will naturally go to the store that they relate to. And the others may do whatever. But it is also a fact that the black store will be overlooked by the majority. (It's just something we do unconsciously)

To me the name black pound day does sound a bit funny (but to each their own) Also if Eskimos (lgt.. or whoever) wanted to do a day (as funny as it may sound) it would still be for them to enjoy It's like creating mothers day or any other day, it is literally for those that support it (Wether it works or not is another story)

The white or European, the brown or Indian, the yellow or oriental pound day If any of the above sounds weird, then we can understand that the black or African pound day will also sound strange to most people
