Clear explanation! I have tried both. But with debit spreads, i was inconsistent. Now sticking mainly to STBT credit spreads and the win rate is good so far.

good point video location 7.00 when vix is lower than 15,Debit spread is good When vix is higher than 15 or 20, credit spread is better for index debit spread is good for stocks where big move is likely. debit spread is good for directional trades,good for atm and itm credit spread is bad for itm. good for atm,otm good for positional

Actually, even for debit spread, if volatility increase, the profit reduces (just like credit spread). This can be observed by trying this out in an option strategy builder. I don't understand why it is generally said that debit spreads benefit when volatility increases or that debit spreads should be applied when volatility is low, this is not true. When volatility increases both credit and debit spreads are affected adversely.

There's some lack of clarity on hedging aspect when you say " debit spread will save my Calls!" If you have, say 10 Calls, one or two debit spreads aren't going to save 10 Calls, isn't it ?
