This is the same time I've been in the hobby. It all began in summer 2007. I was 16 and just finished high school. A friend and I decided to visit Modelzone in Holbourne (we're both aviation/military enthusiasts). We both bought a Revell 1:72 B-1b that was on sale for just £20! And that's where it began! God knows how much I've spent in the hobby. Probably in the world of tens of thousands of £.

Yeah, this hobby-it's definitely worth it... way better than just sitting in front of the TV doing nothing productive. I can only recommend "model building" to everyone... best regards. Nearly 20 years is quite something... here's to the next 20! :) Cheers!^^

@@CapLAGOS I am just kidding with ya, 'Cap'..... Seriously, you have SUCH Great talent in building your a-c, I am curious, Which is your favorite plane-type in your collection? AND, which is your Favorite F-14 Squadron??? For me, my favorite plane is the F-16XL..... Such a Unique design that Almost flew for the A.F!! Though it was built and flown many different tests, it was Never produced in quantity! As for my favorite F-14 Squadron.... I Always loved the VF-211 'Checkmates' of the 80's while onboard CONSTELLATION. ( I Do like VF-84 'Jolly Rodgers' now VF-103....but you see or many people have built that squadron plane ).

@ Thank you, Moe, 👍😉 Yes, I’ve built this F-16 before as well; it’s also available in 1:32 scale. However, I never actually displayed that model because I think it didn’t turn out so well. As for my favorite F-14 squadron, I’ve always liked the ones I’ve built myself. But if I had to choose, it would be NSAWC-I particularly love their paint schemes. Best regards!

Hello Scott, I’m really pleased to hear that! It’s exactly the purpose of the videos-to entertain. I’m 50 years old myself and built my first creation when I was just 10. However, I’ve only been building more intensively again since 2007. Sending you lots of warm regards!

@ Yes, it’s crazy to think back on what the first models were. For me, it was actually warships, I believe in a scale of 1:1250, which I was given as gifts. The first one I bought myself was the F-14 Tomcat Bicentennial by Revell.

@@CapLAGOS Very cool! My first kit was a car that was about the size of the Matchbox or Hot Wheels vehicles. I mostly built cars with an occasional plane along with a rare tank or ship when I was starting out. My Dad bought me my first Tomcat kit at the National Museum of the USAF when I was about 10, I had no idea at that point that I would one day serve on aircraft carriers. While I do build a little bit of everything, I have more aircraft than anything else in my stash and on display.

Hello Ken, yes, in the 1:72 scale models, you can actually see quite a few F-18C versions that I built with different camouflage patterns. The same goes for the 1:48 models, but there weren’t as many of those. I no longer have those collections, only the ones in 1:32 scale remain. Best regards.💪👍🍀

@CapLAGOS15 күн бұрын
Thank you very much! :) one of the first models were actually warships in 1:1250. I had built about 2-3 of them... I was probably about 13-14 years old at the time. and then when the movie TopGun came out I built Revell's 1:72 Bicentennial Tomcat... but then I saved up more and more money and built 1:32 models... unfortunately I don't have any of these models anymore... .or maybe lucky! : they looked horrible... these days you can get a lot of information on how to build models on KZbin. Do you also? or would you like to start?

@CapLAGOS Hi Cap. I'm 64 now, and the earliest models I assembled were those AMT Star Trek kits back in the late 60s. Throughout childhood, WW2 planes, tanks, and a ship or two, some Estes rockets too. All those models were unpainted, and all but one ended up in the trash. In the 80s, my first "best effort" as an older person was the Revell 1/32 F-14 Tomcat using aftermarket decals of Black Aces Su killer. I also built Revell 1/32 F-15E and F-4E, too. The builds were pretty good, and I still have the models. However, other interests kept me from building more. Getting the model building bug again, I've been watching many videos such as yours. I'm thinking of a highly detailed, "working", non-flying static display of an F-14 Tomcat based on this: www.skymasterjets.net/f14xl.htm What you think!?
