Just a quick update. I reinstalled DJI assistant today and reupdated again and everything is working. Still no hdmi to usbc but I get full power!! Will be updating very soon

Sorry does not figure it out. So you are saying that DJI are going to sell their FPV set in EU (Germany) with reduced "max. sending power" (25 mW)???

I am sorry about your experience with the DJI FPV system. I did a maiden flight on my setup yesterday and I got 25mW and 700mW without any issue. I maiden my DJI FPV system with my 5-inch freestyle quad in the familiar area that I practice my freestyle on for years. Most of my freestyle quads have FrSky XM-plus and some with Crossfire. I flew the DJI FPV system for the first time way past the point where I know my Frsky receiver would failsafe and I still get good video image on my goggles. At my test site, there are some trees and building in between me and the quad as well. It was not a LOS flying at all. I will run a few tests this weekend on a different field just to make sure I give it a fair test. I'm running on firmware 1.0 on all of the DJI FPV devices. I would suggest you reflash your firmware again just to make sure the first firmware may be corrupted. Safe flying!

Mine did the same thing. No 700mw option. You can reprogram the unit. Open text editor in windows. Type the number 1, save as naco.txt to micro SD card and put it in the air unit. Boot up air unit and goggles. Will drop signal and rejoin. Thats it. This unlocks FCC mode. Worked great on my system. No idea why it activated in CE mode.

Aye, there is a VTX mw limiter you can turn off in the goggles menu. It should get your air unit back up to 700 mw. I'm going through fun myself currently as well. Next I'm swaping out my voltage limiter for a better one and then going to glue a giant heat sink to the back of the air unit. that thing gets sooooo hot. If that doesn't get it cold enough I'm drilling holes through the air unit case and putting little heat sinks directly on the chips.

Great video and it does raise some serious questions, but at the same time, it's hard to judge because the issues you have with your system could either be because DJI's system is crap or it could because this unit is faulty. However, if this is how it will work in the EU than it's gonna suck for sure.

Your BEC at 9V could be the problem. Change it out to 12V - 3amp? Just a suggestion. May not be the issue, just saw that you were powering on the end.

A user on the RCGroups thread had the same issue; stuck in 25mw, even when activated in the US, with a US IP address. Took loading the firmware on 3 different PCs to get the FCC mode activated. Maybe try a different computer if you have it?

Philip Sancho I’ve tried 3 computers, windows. 7 windows 10 and the Mac. I’ve tried with the firewall and without on the windows. I’ve tried just about everything besides changing the power on the air unit to more power. That’s what I’m going to try next maybe my bec is weak?

Richard D I’ve decided for what I need to do with it I’m just going to stick it in my race quads for now. The quad I had originally put it on was my freestyle night quad so I was missing it lol. I have it on one of my floss 3.0 quads with taller standoffs. I run 50° on it so no props in view either lol. But I have to get others in my chapter with it for a spotter. So for now it’s grounded until I have someone who has one to race with, hdmi out, or just for practice.

On this video (10:58) kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJbanIGnhLeKhKs, guy explained it well the main issue of these goggles : in analog you still keep a maximum of 50ms latency and with DJI FPV you can be at 28ms and the next second you will be at 700ms or lose a frame so you lose totally video information very often (guy lost 14 seconds of video !). Result is that you will fly and will be blind in many seconds of your flight and will have always to correct your flight and can't anticipate well the obstacles . So maybe, the problem that you met (at 25mW too) is not directly the poor latency but a variable latency from 28ms to 700ms that you can't predict.

if you are not willing to invest the time and $$$ for new amazing tech then just stay with mediocer analog. I am excited to have this new option to add to my quiver. It will NOT replace everything but if I can have a couple long range 7" cruisers I am VERY VERY VERY happy to spend the time to sort out issues, to those negative FPV Pilots stuck in the old tech that is your choice.... new tech requires the motivation to understand experiment and solve issues THAT IS PART OF THE FUN !!!! my mega packages arriving from DJI today. Your comparison video format is super difficult to follow.. FPV is flown (viewed) mostly in the vertical, two side by side comparison videos, rather than squashed down top and bottom frames, would have been much easier to follow.

your air unit antennas need to be a minimum of 40 mm apart yours are way to close to each other

The only way to catch the country is to read your IP adress so with a VPN it should work

Don't understand why it's a hard pass for you if you CAN go beyond 25mW?! Feel lucky you are living in a place where you are actually allowed to do so without risking fines! That's a testing / beta batch of units sent to selected people "from the industry" all over the world.
