Great video showing the tire difference. I'm learning even with higher speed cars how much of a difference tires can make. Agreeing with another commenter on here, definitely seem like a genuine guy, not any more odd then the next person!! Haha Have a great day!

I like at the end how you was talking about your suspension and how the axles drop and you want to fix that through the shocks I was thinking the same thing but you said it at the end nice job it crawls very nicely though 🤙🏻🔥😎🔥👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Looks good with the Jconcepts body on it.....2.2 in tires really changes how the Capra acts ....I changed motors CC 2850 to HH 1800 and 1.9 tires I like it better more of a challenge to me...

I see why they gave it 1.9 stock. It’s unstoppable on 2.2

i'm running my capra with rc4wd 2.2 genius fronteira's right now and I love it. no way will I go back to 1.9. it is just so capable. im using the soft springs with the compression nut backed up all the way to the shock cap.
@anthonypacis71045 жыл бұрын
Kyle Thatcher ......if bigger is better, then put some xmaxx tires and rims. You’ll never go back to 2.2. That’s according to your logic.
@mojaverc15854 жыл бұрын
Xmaxx tyres and wheels on this would be pointless as they would not have nearly enough grip and squishyness
@mojaverc15854 жыл бұрын

I'm personally a fan of a heavy rig. Makes it more realistic. Imo. The 2.2 definitely seem to get you most of the traction you're chasing except for a few hangups on the skid. Maybe a delrin skid could be a future addition? Have you got some weighted wheels or some beef patties or similar to really put the rubber into the rocks?
@ExocagedRC5 жыл бұрын
actually now that you mention that I think I do have some beef patties somewhere. I'll have to look and see if I can find them

I'm interested in building a capra kit with 2.2 tires. If I run the hobbywing brushless motor/ esc all in one motor, any advice on lowering the gearing, and fitting that larger motor in the capra, for a super slow high torque crawler?

There has been lots of talk of doing the RC4WD internal springs in similar tension to lower the shocks without actual limiters. I personally just swapped mine for 100mm Desert Lizards with 50wt oil. What is the OD of those tires? I'm thinking 1.9 Rock Beast XL or similar Ottsix Voodoos...but the 2.2s you were running don't look too bad.

Hi there. Do you think the Hobbywing Axe 1800 KV is a good choice for this vehicle? I like very slow, controlled crawling...
@ExocagedRC5 жыл бұрын
klampfinger yeah that should run pretty slow and be a great choice for what you want. Some have fit a 10t pinion in there but I could only go as low as 11t.

Why brushless on the capra? And are there brushless motors that have bakes? I have a brushless motor but the brakes won't work. It has a program card with it as well, still the brake doesn't work. Any ideas?

@@ExocagedRC Currently the hobby wing 1080p. 540 can 13turn. I'm in the process of replacing axles. I bought some alloy axles and the front cvds snapped like in 5 seconds. The newer one I ordered are supposed to be hardened steel. We shall see. That and there's not a whole lot of places where we are to crawl so it makes it difficult to know how well the crawlers perform. Take my wife's the only thing I've done to hers is put deep woods on hers and she can pretty much get up anything she want but for a yr and half mine breaks every time I take it out, so in the process of trying to make it mostly bullet proof. Anyway thanks for the reply! Sorry I talk too much lol. Keep up the with the good work and info.
