The Capresso Coffee TEA PRO Glass is a grind and brew coffee maker that has a top loading coffee bean bin that grinds your favorite beans and then drip brews your coffee. The Coffee TEAM PRO comes in two versions with a glass carafe and heating pad while the Therm version drips into a stainless steel insulated carafe without a heating element.
The Coffee TEAM PRO works well for medium and light roast beans while dark roast clogs the brewer every time I have tried it. I thought this may be a problem with the particular machine I received for reviewing and after receiving a second machine found it did the same thing.
While the brewer works well for medium and light roast coffees any dark roast beans I tried clogged the burr grinder and had me poking the bottom and vacuuming out the grinder. The Coffee TEAM PRO does work well for brewing your preground coffees and would make a good brewer but the fact that I have to be careful about the machine clogging just makes me dissapointed.
I just would not look to the Capresso Coffee TEAM PRO unless your only going to be using light or medium roast beans in the machine.

I know this review is kind of old but do you know if they improved it for using dark roast beans?

I got one in 2019 and have been brewing dark French roast for a few rounds and haven’t had an issue but will monitor and hope for good results.... using coarse mode

Agree. I typically brew either a Brazilian, Costa Rican, and a darker Kona bean that has an oilier sheen. I brew all on MEDIUM grind. I run the cleaning feature on coarse daily, after every use. I do clean the grinder once or twice a week by removing the hopper and brushing out including underneath. I have been known to use my vac hose to clear out beans because the hopper box didn’t close and beans dropped out, oy at the price of coffee this is a bummer. Overall, I love it. It’s as much cleaning required as using a separate grinder. Makes great coffee. My sweet spot is set to grind 6, film water to 9 cup.

Did your dark french roast beans cause an issue with this on board grinder?

Short version: avoid the Capresso Grind and Brew Pro Plus Our first one leaked coffee out of the front during the brew cycle onto our countertop. No amount of cleaning or adjusting the brew amount or cycle prevented this. It’s easy to see that this is a design flaw because you can see where coffee condenses above the filter and then runs down a seam below the door. We returned it under warranty and received a second one that had a delaminated hot plate and a button that was falling out. PLUS, it still leaked on the counter. I asked for a refund; denied. I requested switching out for a less expensive model that was different, while being willing to incur the price difference myself. That was also denied. So now we’re returning again for a third one that I will probably leave in the box and sell on marketplace for $50 or just donate it to a thrift store. $240 wasted.

Your suppose to use the oily button on the machine and put on course. for blondes you can use fine grind. Read the manual!!!

I'm researching this machine as a Christmas gift for my wife and even I think this guy is doing it wrong. I already own a fully-automatic espresso machine (Saeco Pico Baristo which I absolutely love!) but my wife likes drip coffee. This looks like a great drip coffee maker at $209 from Amazon. I assume you own this machine... do you recommend it? Anything that I should worry about?

@@icypirate11 it does require cleaning regularly, but no more than a separate grinder. Clean it properly, see my reply above on cleaning issues with oily beans.

I have this machine. It makes good coffee, but the cleaning procedure is far too complicated and time consuming. I use a fairly oily french roast, and the ground coffee chute clogs far too easily. There should be a better way to clean a coffee machine if the recommendation is to clean it twice a week if used daily.

The first 2 were defective out of the box. The third died after 13 months. Taking a screw out (of plastic!) stripped the head! Dead giveaway for cheap Chinese screws. Jura killed this brand. It used to be good. I had one last 15 years. Now they're crap.
