You may be right but you have to look at other factors. Logistically, it's easier to get to Paris than some of these Italian romantic cities as Capri, Positano, etc. Most cities in the world have direct flights to Paris.

Hey Ken, I hope all is going well. I have a lot of new material to post up but between all the travel lately it is a little slow going. I filmed a new day walk of Capri as well. It is just one long video. Still working on that one. Also hope to post up the Amalfi Coast Boat Tour soon. I think that one will be pretty nice to leave on in the background. Anyway, all is going well here...except overcast weather so I am waiting that out for a day or two.

L'Italia è un paese bellissimo, l'Italia è bella ed ha tutto, le montagne, il bel mare azzurro, i laghi como lago di cuomo, le lagune, le barche a gondola, gli ulivi nel sud, la campagna che non ha niente da invidiare a quello che in francia chiamano 'la provence', avete storia da vendere, le rovine dei vecchi castelli anche in capri come villa giove, il collosseo, il cibo etc..non c'è nessun altro paese che ha tutto questo insieme di cose belle. Certi paesi hanno il mare, la sabbia e il sole, nient'altro. Altri hanno storia, ma non l'ordine etc..perciò hanno uno o due belle cose ma non tutto come l'italia. E non sono neanche Italiana 😁 ma ho vissuto là da piccola e ho viaggiato tanto con i miei genitori durante le vacanze d'estate per questo so che l'italia è bella. Ciao!

Just hearing the water lapping up against the boat for two hours is incredibly relaxing. Can't wait to see the trip around Capri! It's such a beautiful island, that, from what I read now and then it gets a bad rap as solely a playground for the rich and famous. But it's chock full of natural beauty, even if it's not in the form of a supermodel!

Hey, glad you enjoyed the videos. I think one night in Positano is fine. If you spend a full day there and an evening, you will have the full experience and probably be ready to move on. I recommend two nights on Capri..in Capri, not Anacapri. There is more to see and it's fun to wander around there. Anacapri is good for a day trip but there is less to do and see there at night. You will want two full days on Capri to really feel you've got the most out of it.

It's wonderful to see all these places come back to life as the pandemic winds down - I bet the retailers & restaurateurs of the whole coast & islands of Campania are relieved to see their livelihoods return. But I wonder if you (PWT/Isaac) miss it just a little bit when you had these heavily touristed places almost to yourself before? We're all pretty lucky you were around to zip down from Napoli to document the lockdown, I doubt we'll ever see those places so empty again.

Hey Elle, yeah I think all the businesses are relieved and happy to see the tourists return. It was pretty interesting to travel last summer. I filmed the Colosseum completely empty. Hey Clark, I think it is a lift to bring people in wheelchairs from up to the Piazzetta from the Funicolare but I'm not exactly sure. I'm not sure what the vax rate is here. I think the day after this video was filmed, the outdoor mask mandate was removed but people were already not wearing masks outside. I think the locals like the money tourists bring to the island. That is how they survive..but it must be hard to see your island overrun with tourists day in and day out. Thanks for watching!

What time do things begin to quiet down in the evening during the tourist season?

Capri is a party all night kind of place. The tourists leave on their ferry by 6pm, then everyone else is in their hotel room relaxing after a day of swimming on their boat. People start to eat dinner around 9pm and then at 12am, the clubs open up and the streets are packed again with the party crowd until 3 or 4am.

This place is just gorgeous. People are well put together, well dressed, well behaved. I'd feel so out of place walking there. Do mostly rich people go there?

Valeen 78 Mostly yes, but if you go on Saturdays and Sundays (however, these are the worst days) you will also find people who are not (too much) rich because they come just for the weekend or even day trips. Of course, if you are looking for poor people, Capri is not the right place (not even on Saturdays or Sundays). Anyway if your "problem" is the fear of being out of place, in my opinion is a senseless fear 😉 instead if you want to spend less there are many other places, including on the Amalfi Coast (or near) that cost a lot less and are still beautiful. Sorry for my "eng".

@@lazios Thanks for correcting my assumptions. Is Amalfi and coastline villages a tourist trap? I know there is a mountain range separating Naples from these towns, so I'm not sure how well known they are to the tourists. Also, watching the video, at least in Capri, it doesn't seem to be any foreigners/tourists, and everyone's speaking Italian fluently. P.S. My father used to live in Tuscany/Firenze for 15 years till he came back home (before I was born), so growing up, we were introduced to a lot of Italian food and traditions even though we are not Italian. Then we migrated to America about 20 years ago. In the past few years, I've been trying to make more Italian dishes, and I'm constantly reminded of a few times I visited Italy when I was a kid. As I'm getting older, I really want to visit Italy more (I still have two aunts and three cousins born and raised there -- not in Naples area though).

@@valeenoi2284 Obviously there are tourist traps, are tourist places (like everywhere), it depends on the tourist to avoid them and it's not too hard, you can "feel" the traps. In any case, in Capri and on the Amalfi Coast, it's very hard to eat badly (you must be very unlucky), what can happen is to spend a lot because are quite expensive places. The tourist come from all over the world, it's obvious that in June (like in the video) there are many italians because are people who have a home and spend the summer season there (or are day trips peoples). Regarding the cuisine, I believe that foreigner people have an idea (of the italian one) that doesn't correspond to the truth; italian cuisine, which is very different from the italian-american one that you (usually) know (because the cuisine, the dishes ... evolve, like everything) it could be said, to make a paradox, that it doesn't exist, what exists are many "regionals italian cuisine", all different from each other (and are really different, not so to speak) who have nothing in common (often not even olive oil). 😉 Sorry, as I wrote you I don't speak "eng", so I had to use Google help to answer but it's still hard (and boring) to do, I hope I was able to explain despite this problem.
