I'm in a very similar situation, I'm a cap with a cancer, dealing with this roller coaster that sucks my energy and deplete me. I'm doing my best to get out of this cycle, but each time I'm announcing the tap out, he turned into this hurtful person, my heart feels destroy and I eventually go back to ease the fire. Sadly he's deaing with some addictions on his own and each time things are getting better, he slowly goes back to it.... not sure how and when I can get out of it peacefully
