This a fun & color filled wardrobe: I would not be bored mixing and matchy these pieces. I am not a neutrals girl so this speaks to my heart. I have found footwear elevates my looks. Yes you can use accessories but there is a difference when you go from booties , to a riding boot to a sleek knee high black boot in order to make the biggest impact

100% Agree! I think shoes set the tone for the whole outfit. The same dress can go from dressy to casual if you switch your high heels for a pair of sneakers.

The one cold weather item I most look forward to wearing is my camel, single breasted, wool-and-cashmere coat. It's vintage, and I had it tailored so it falls just below my knees and nips at the waist. I have "cool" skin coloring with olive undertones, so camel is not a color I easily gravitate toward...however, that coat makes me feel like a million bucks. The silk lining, the double buttons, the handstitching around the interior pockets, the luster of the wool...it's a work of art and makes me happy-happy-happy!

Here I am, watching this again a year later...back to work in person but not quite under "normal" conditions. We're still wearing masks and keeping physical distance as much as possible. It's the weekend of Labor Day, so I decided to take a few hours to retire the bright greens, blues, and pinks of my spring and summer wardrobe and start adding the navy, deep emerald, dark teal, purple, and burgundy hues of my autumn and winter collection. I have a plaid shirt in shades of purple, gray, and black that I call my "girl lumberjack" top---I'm looking forward to bringing that one back into rotation!

Fall is such a tough season if you live in an area with variable temperatures. You did a great job covering a range of outfits. Usually I have a lightweight black turtleneck that is my go-to for almost every fall outfit. It is such a classic and for some reason, the extra layer makes even simple outfits look more put together.

I started my first capsule wardrobe a month or two ago and what you described at the beginning is precisely how I feel! I feel like I have no variation, I keep wearing the same three outfits over and over. However, I think part of it is that some of my pieces aren't versatile enough. Like leggings. I don't have a lot of tops or sweaters that I like to wear with leggings because they aren't long enough in the back. So I'm usually stuck, a few days after doing laundry, with a pair of leggings and nothing to wear on top, or a similar situation (like only having black pieces left). I can't really afford new clothes right now though, so I'm not sure what to do. 🤷😑

Did you get rid of the rest of your clothes, or did you just store them away? If you still have them - go through them and try again! This time you won’t be starting from scratch, you’ll be starting from experience. Another thing you can do is look for a friend or someone in your community to do swap with, and trade one of your tops for a different color one that works with leggings. Remember, it’s not about suffering! If it doesn’t work, try again!

Hi, welcome! I'm always cold too, what I've learned is that it's not about more layers - it's about better fabrics. I used to own a lot of synthetics, and those don't regulate the temperature that well. Now I try to stick to Cashmeres, wools, and fleeces, and look for natural blends as opposed to poly blends. Your body will retain heat a lot better! And keep your feet warm, that will make a big difference!

yep., in Wisc even in the fall, it's down puffer vest layered over cashmere sweater layered over wool turtleneck. I miss Florida weather 🤗. it feels like a cozy blanket

I get that question all the time and honestly, I’ve never counted. I would say maybe 60-70? Not counting underwear or workout clothing. One day I should count, maybe I’ll vlog it.

Haha! Maybe I should have, but I personally don't gravitate to white when the weather gets colder. I have this (maybe wrong) idea that it's not a flattering color for me as I get less sun.

I wear sweaters over my more fitted sleeveless tops, and then French tuck the sweater into the skirt in the front. Check out the Winter Capsule Combinations video- there is a couple of examples there!
