It runs a little rough but still held it's own. Keep up the videos 👍 good job.

Thank you! This engine is mostly spare parts off the shelf with gaskets changed. I really need to build something fresh to set up for the demo events.

@@WahlRacing I run compacts. I Prefer Toyota's I'm still trying to figure out how to hard nose a Camry all of our shows are stock going to try running a few in New Hampshire and Vermont. Maine is behind the times. They pretty much still use R&R productions rules. Ev thing stock no mud or snow tires. It's not as much fun as it used to be

@@FrankKnapp-u6o ahh, that sounds like a good class! A lot of folks say “they don’t bend and smash like they used to”. A true bonestock class will make that happen

@@WahlRacing it's fun cuz you don't have to put a lot of money in them I move my tank and batt loop my trans lines and send em. I use the back until the struts are almost blown out and dangling by then there usually isn't many cars left so I take them head on and shut them down quick. But lately I've been having bad luck people have started to figure out what I do and they target me from the get go. It is what it is but four or five on one isn't much fun. Time to go outta town..

It’s not the motor being tired causing it to run rough.. I love my high mileage tired LS motors.. but that carb’s idle circuit is super lean and/or the accelerator pump is not functioning. I’m saying a combination of the both. It’s got plenty of jet, you can see black smoke when you’re on it… but that carb needs some smaller bleeds and a new/bigger accelerator pump and squirter. And a starter switch separate from the fire/ignition switch to get it spinning fast enough before you throw the fire to it.. helps with advanced timing

Neat ideas here! I’ll have to give those a try with that carb and ignition setup. Heat of the moment I’d have to remember to turn it (off) before cranking

@@WahlRacingyeah off idle hesitation or stumble is almost always too much air causing it to be too lean.. whether is too small of accelerator pump/nozzle squirt, too large of air bleeds, or a large vacuum leak (square bore to spread bore carb adapters can cause this a lot).. the 2nd issue is timing but a lot of the time that dead miss is fuel/air.. as far as the switches, it is a learning curve but being able to turn the fire off and throw it to it while it’s spinning can help a lot with hot starts and clearing junk out.

Yes it will! I'm planning to try an old school Rochester 2-BBL on the next run.
