It is not always possible to find 100% accurate footage to illustrate these cinematic short films, but where possible ODYSSEUS FILES strives to keep it authentic. Background music will always attempt to provide appropriate emotional mood.
Topics and content are thoroughly researched and portrayed in their historical context for both educational and entertainment purposes. We try our best to be accurate in terms of the data in our short films, but are not experts in all areas and are always learning new things, so if we get something wrong - please feel free to contact us. Very nice. What about something about Sir Richard Francis Burton? He is even more interesting, he was sort of a renaissance man😀 a polymath, a man of many abilities. Cheers

Fascinating presentation as always!! I was not familiar with this gentleman but you have me interested enough to start a search for his book "Cold Steel". I agree with him in that much can be learned from historical works. I recall that the WW1 Italian shock troops, the Arditi, were trained using a historical manuscript, The Flower of Battle (14th Century). The results showed that it produced deadly soldiers who creasted havoc in enemy trenches with their knives. Thank you for all of your efforts and vast knowledge

The Swordsman is a better read than Cold Steel ,IMO. Where Cold Steel feels really bloated and lackluster the Swordsman sort of refines and simplifies his method into something that makes more sense. There is cool stuff in Cold Steel but it should be DLC to Hutton's the Swordsman, IMO. I actually really like his one-off stuff in CS alot but the sabre material is ratger hodge podge and lacks some clarity that beginners may need. The Swordsman cuts out some of the parries then prioritizes them by categorizing them into primary and secondary parries. There are numerous other small details that make me prefer the Swordsman.
