Here’s the thing about Sam: I’m fine with him being a normal human, with no superpowers, but if they ever want him to be taken seriously, he actually has to EARN something! Every advantage he currently has is because of other people’s tech that’s been given to him. With other non-powered heroes, like Iron Man, they make up for their lack of strength, with superior intelligence and ingenuity, or like Hawkeye/Black Widow, they make up for lack of powers with sheer skill, but Sam doesn’t really have any exceptional abilities, outside of piloting a wingsuit that was first made for him by Stark Industries. His hand to hand is sub par, his accuracy is sub par, and even his strength of character is weaker than other Avengers. They’re really gonna need to show him actually achieving something for himself, WITHOUT the use of someone else’s technology, before he can ever be accepted as the next Captain America!
