If the mustache joke didn't have any greater meaning to you....cool. I don't think it's unreasonable for some of us thin a recast due to a real person dying should be handled with a bit more sensitivity than a mustache joke. I also don't think it's unreasonable that some of us thought of the real life recast due to a real world death rather than about a fake person's facial hair when they reference him looking different.

They were doing the classic “you look different” bit which many movies/shows do with a recast. I don’t think it’s the most sensitive way to address a real world death.

The mustache line isn't even a joke. It's not supposed to make you laugh, especially at the expense of the dead actor. It's just a line to explain why the mustache is gone and address the recast. It's not supposed to be "funny." Misconstruing it as any sort of comedic disrespect is a bad assumption.

Mustache joke wasn't at the expense of the late actor though so it's not offensive. The character famously has a mustache in the comic and it's just a subtle bit of exposition letting the audience know he's portraying the character now.

Yeah but keep in mind, if they do go with that FULL trailer to get everyone going, they’re gonna have to show some stuff for hype: action scenes, Red Hulk, Sam’s flying choreography, so some vfx for sure. I think they kept as much out because they need to time to touch it up to make it crisp. That’s my only thing about it, cause I agree with you. They should’ve. But, they probably didn’t have enough of that footage ready, touched up, etc to release where it looked good enough to present. Hope that makes sense, but yeah I agree

This is gonna be peak! It feels like Winter Soldier. It likely won’t be as good, but it looks awesome! Harrison Ford seems great in the role. The presidential assassination plotline seems interesting. I can’t wait to see Giancarlo Esposito as his mystery villain. Here’s my prediction of how I’d rank the Captain America films: 4: First Avenger (Still great, but the weakest) 3: Brave New World (Like I said, looks awesome!) 2: Winter Soldier (Fantastic!) 1: Civil War (Fantastic!)

At 0:31 in the trailer, the Celestial Head/Hand is coming out of the ocean in the background. We get a glimpse of it later when Sam is flying over of the ocean too. The army seems to be fighting over it for some reason. Tbh, not sure if I wanted to see that reference to Eternals ever come back. In my head canon, Eternals didn't happen in the MCU.

I feel like most of the non-Disney+ subscribers have no idea this movie had any bad buzz attached to it. Most casual fans of media aren’t seeing headlines like this. To them, it’s a trailer for another Marvel movie, and as you say, it’s a solid one. Whether they’re out on Marvel movies at this point is another thing, but I don’t think the behind-the-scenes stories are affecting that crowd at all.

The teaser has me a little skeptical. It seems like we might be retreading the same ground we already have in other Cap projects. I don't want to see Sam go through the same developments he and Steve already have. I also don't think they should habe shown Hulk yet, and agree it felt weird to see so much of Giccarlo. However, i did enjoy the feeling and tone of the teaser, that did hook me.

I think Ross should’ve been recast with someone a bit younger, like Bryan Cranston (he’s 68, but not as old as Harrison ford who is OLDER than William hurt). If they plan to use Ross even more after this movie, the sad truth is they might have to recast AGAIN. If they only plan to use him in this movie, I think it’s a mistake. I’d like to see him square off with Hulk, and make an appearance in Thunderbolts (it’s named after him ffs)

I have this feeling that this will not live up to the winter soldier but come so very close. The biggest thing I think this movie will need is another character to help Sam. The winter soldier had black widow and nick fury and it would not be the same without them This movie Sam feels like he is on his own. Torres seems like a good character but many people have not spent enough time with him on screen. I think if someone like Bucky was in the show it would really be a 10/10 but unless this movie really proves me wrong idk

I'm sorry that you are catching the brunt of my rant but I watched this trailer and I was very excited when I did and NOT because of red hulk but because Sam's story seems interesting in terms of what role and mindset he will be having with all these new challenges. It seems more complex and that he's going to be playing both the superhero and the political mastermind game and this obviously being a Marvel show, he's going to win in the end. But of, course, when I wanted to see reactions, it becomes a hate watch for me, which saddens me. But I of course enjoy your reactions and are always on my list of reactors to watch and was fine with the 'joke' or comment but I could absolutely see your view on feeling icky about, especially if you have an emotional connection to the actor that is more prominent in your mind than others like me. I wanted to hear people's thought on the trailer story itself and what they think might happen and be excited just based on that. But of course, all people care about is action action and the big red strong guy. And sure I LOVE that too, and am actually really interested to see Sam's powerup and how that's going to happen and then utilizing his new strength to fight the hulk, which seems like will be really cool action scenes for both characters. Why do we have to tamper our genuine excitement and anticipation for something by feeding the often immature negative thinking that is spewed on the internet, so that a Marvel can actually have a positive outcome. Like if this show ends up really being good, well then people crapped on it for no reason and then have to maintain that meh attitude so their previous opinion holds true. We don't need to do that to ourselves. You're allowed to be excited for Sam and his story, we don't need to feed the premature judgement. I just worry that because we are prejudgment what I think will be a good show, people will not have the attention span to appreciate the story being told and just judge the quality of the show based on the outside factors and opinions. Like yes, a lot of things happened in the background, but a lot of drama happen in the background of every other movie out there, even blockbuster hit movies. But I am so glad you seemed to be interested in the storyline as well and thought it looked interesting.

I’m with you and was disappointed with the Falcon/Winter Soldier show - but I do like this trailer. It feels like it is trying to go back to what made the Cap films great!
