New York was the fault of an alien invasion. The helicarrier crashes were Hydra's fault. Sokovia actually WAS the Avenger's fault, as it was Tony and Bruce that created Ultron.

@@terrylandess6072 The point is, Cap doesn't think he should even be subject to a trial. That's the problem. On another note, Cap claims to be doing what he's doing in order to protect people. You can't claim you're "protecting" someone you won't listen to. If the Avengers screw up and kill your family, as they did to Zemo, you have zero recourse. Not even an incident report, much less a review. Not only do the Avengers go unaccountable, but they don't think there should even be anyone capable of holding them to account. Tell me that sounds like a workable system. I know what it sounds like to me, and it's the same thing whether it's being done by a weirdo in a jump suit in North Korea or by a guy with a star on his chest. The only difference is degree, and it's only a difference for now. You've no idea what Cap might decide to do tomorrow, and, whatever it is, there's nothing you can do about it. He's untouchable. Finally, practically, it's unworkable. As Zemo demonstrated, when you make legitimate recourse impossible, you make illegitimate, usually violent recourse inevitable. Zemo wasn't the first, and he won't be the last.

@@michaelccozens That's not what Cap thinks at all, and no where in the movie does he say or even imply this. You totally just missed his point even though he makes it clear in the argument scene. His point is that putting the Avengers in control of the UN and giving away their autonomy like that would be the wrong move. And he would be right. Look at what happened in Winter Soldier and how Hydra was hiding in the cracks of not just shield but the entire US government. Who's to say there aren't some Hydra personnel working within the UN or any other terrorist organization?

The odd thing I always had against this movie is the culpability of the general. After all, this was the guy that was responsible for the whole death and destruction surrounding the Hulk, the inadvertent creation of an out of control monstrosity due to one of his soldiers going rogue. Turning a college campus into a battle ground but some how this arrogant A hole is now in a position of power representing America at the UN ? Where does one get that kind of credibility for failing so badly ?

That grated me..how he was not on the chopping block for what he did. He's responsible for putting civilian lives in danger with the abomination getting loose, in Harlem, N.Y. He also had his helicopter pilot firing war grade bullets in populated apartment buildings, while trying to shoot at the abomination on rooftops.

I mean, it's a movie and they can write anything they want into a script but the whole premise of putting the Avengers 'in check' is about as bogus a concept that you can think of. But the script says they need to act like dogs with tails between their legs, so that's how Tony and the others act. And the script says Ross is to be the guy leading it. It's an incredible movie with a bad plot.

Every example he gives to 'why' there needs to be an accord fails. Shield was responsible for Loki and the Chitauri. They were gonna Nuke the city - how quickly we forget . . . . Stark got Banner involved in a scheme that resulted in a Murder Bot the the Avengers had to 'fix'. Why isn't Stark on the chopping block? Scarlet Witch saved more people on the ground than in the building but the writers made her incompetent when it was 'needed'. Face it - the MCU went on cruise control to get to the Infinity Saga.

No one ever gets how captain knew You were close.. but you have to listen to the dialogue too In winter soldier the AI of Arnim Zola says 'accidents Will happen' and shows the cctv of th car crash and newspapers saying Howard stark died in a car crash Here tony says 'did you know?' Steve 'i didn't know IT WAS HIM' Steve knew they were assassinated. But didn't know it was Bucky Cap doesn't lie

I wish it was true, but at the end of Winter Soldier, Cap gets handed everything Shield has on Bucky. That's how he did know. The idea that he doesn't lie (or is actually incapable of it) is a romantic one that I want to believe but 5 seconds later, he retracts the lie and tells him the truth. If the first statement wasn't a lie, then the second one was, because both statements can't be true. I'd prefer to think that the first statement was a lie, and the second was an honest admission because he simply couldn't be a liar for more than a few seconds. The letter he sends to Tony at the end of the movie where he apologises, backs up that he knew all along because "he was sparing himself" in his own words (see 27:56 of this awesome vid).

All I know is there was a single camera in just the right place - WITNESSES - so the Winter Soldier failed in his instruction. Of course that camera is a whole other issue given the technology and location.

J Green Yeah, that's what I got from the first time I saw it. Some people will say that we are trying to tell people that he never lies, which is not the point. Infact he lies earlier to Natasha regarding why Fury was in his apartment. So the "you are trying to show Cap as never lying" is really invalid. Now did he know when all the secrets of Hydra and Shield was revealed? Can't know that for sure. Because he may not have wanted to know that detail. To him it was Hydra and that's enough. So we really can't say that he did lie or didn't lie.

Yes he knew it was him because at that point Cap didn't know that there was other super soldiers expect bucky so even if he didn't see bucky in the video he must've put the pieces together early on

Originally Hank Pym made him, I believe... But yeah, that wasn't the MCU version, so yeah... Technically Bruce helped Tony in the movie, but they did use Tony's brainwaves right? So it is probably mostly his fault lol.

@@insertnamehere2746 agreed. Except for the original Iron Man, Tony always got on my God damn nerves. Who the hell would want to hang out with that guy? I've seen a lot of reactions to the Marvel Universe, and the Tony Stark worship is frankly disturbing. It says something about our culture. I'm so glad that the writers of infinity war and endgame gave Doctor Strange dialogue to the effect that if Tony Stark knew what he had to sacrifice to win, he wouldn't do it. It was a nice, fan-service-y way to stay true to Tony's character and still make him appear to be the hero. The writers, Marcus and McNeely, we're basically saying that Tony was still too selfish to sacrifice himself, but if he didn't understand what he needed to do, he would do it out of guilt. But all through Avengers endgame, he kept saying that he did not want to lose what he had, and he didn't care about anybody else. And pepper was the same way, even worse. The first heroic thing Pepper Potts ever said in the Marvel Universe was for Tony to let the Avengers know that he solved the time travel thing. If you go back through the Marvel Universe and pay attention to Pepper's attitude towards Tony being Ironman, she always hated it. So, they suddenly changed Pepper's character to make her at Hero at the very end. Rant over.

Cap was being honest when he said he didn't know Hydra used Bucky to murder Tony's parents. In "CA: The Winter Soldier", Cap and Black Widow (Nat) only found out that Hydra killed Tony's parents. Black Widow is a master at psychological profiling and Tony was her case study in "Iron Man 2". I'm certain both Cap and Nat agreed beforehand not to tell Tony about his parents.

The female supersoldier is played by Heidi Moneymaker, Scarlett Johanson’s stunt double throughout the MCU. Heidi’s sister, Renae, doubles for Bree Larson in Captain Marvel and Evangeline Lilly in the Ant Man movies. Kind of an intimidating family!

There were, actually, five Spider-Man movies before this, but none of them were in the MCU. They were all made under the license Marvel granted to Columbia/Sony. Spiderman: Homecoming was the first Spiderman film in the MCU.

The comics are different from the MCU. 1) Who do you think put the A.I. into the scepter that was built by Thanos? 2) Tony & Bruce admitted failing in their every attempt working on "the competition A.I". It activated "on its own". Who do you think activated it? It immediately absorbs Stark's stored computer data, then data from the world's network. 3) It isn't a random chance that Thanos states he will "do it himself" right after Ultron's failure. Ultron was being monitored. 4) INFINITY WAR SPOILER: Tony Stark showed surprise when Thanos stated he knew Tony. He said Tony, like him, was also "cursed with knowledge". Access to Ultron's data explains best how Thanos had this inside knowledge on Tony & the Avengers.

You folks should watch Agent Carter if you have Disney plus. ABC network ran it for two seasons. It was great. Bettter than anything CW put out. in My opinion. If you want to watch the further adventures of Agent Peggy Carter after she lost Cap, this really is a great series even though it was on for a short time.

I don't blame the lady for being upset her son died - but his number was up. If the Avengers did nothing - he'd still be dead along with the remainder of the HUMAN RACE so yeah, get over it. The writers pulled a lot of strings to create this issue. Tell me how many people would have died had that bomb blown at street level, with ALL those people gawking at the fight? I can tell you it would have been more than that building, so Scarlet Witch did better than nothing. But let us oooh and aaaah at the super heroes fighting and forget how they got there. Disney spent a lot of time constructing this MCU just to turn around and deconstruct it - there's nothing left of value now.

Yeah they dropped the ball with Caps shield origins. In the comics the BP of that time gave the vibranium to Cap after seeing what kinda man he was and that makes for a much better origin then the one we got

Aye - responsibility begins at the top. The actors are just doing their job. I look to the writers and whomever holds their leash for the shortcomings which become more prevalent as the MCU goes on.

Yep, Steve knows what happen to Tony's parents since Winter Soldier, thats why he can move the mjolnir but he cant lift it

The reason why Cap cannot lifted the Mjolnir during AoU because he did not want to. He let the Mjolnir go to respect Thor and did not want to give him a shame. You cannot be 'half-worthy'.. it's either you are worthy or not. Keeping a secret or being a liar did not stop you from be worthy for Mjolnir.
