The early mention of time travel as a major plot arc, so soon after Voyager's endless array of time travel shenanigans, made a lot of people give up on this show right from the pilot. Sadly.

Yeah - I've warmed to Enterprise over the years. It does have its flaws: too much emphasis on the time travel plot early on, too many action-hour shows, and I feel like too many of the actors playing Vulcans put too much emotion in the performance when it should be subtle. But all that being said, I thought they nailed the 'pinoeer spirit' feeling dead on. The early seasons really get across just an honest joy in exploring and learning that I thought was kinda endearing, and I honestly like the chemistry between the cast. I saw an interview with Scott Bakula, I think it was in Shatner's 'Captains' documentary, where he said he accepted that his cast never came together or had enough chemistry and he wasn't sure why, but I actually think he's being too hard on himself. They actually did feel like a group of friends who came closer together over time to me. So.. yeah it has some flaws; I would have liked more philosophy and less shallow action plots, but it's really grown on me nonetheless. Even with all of that it has 10x more heart and optimism about it than most of the shows I see at the moment. Star Trek always brought that sense of hope for a better future to the table, and without it there's very little that says to people, "Look, this is what we COULD be, if we work at it." and I think it's a real shame. Got kinda off topic a bit but yeah. It's a good show. =)

Tyranusfan The additions of the Suliban and Xindi didn't help matters either. There were plenty of other previously unmentioned species they could have had the crew make first contact with. Instead of keeping it purely Star Trek, they turned it into a weak action show.

I had 5 Border Collies (the 1st being 1/2 Aussie I named Gem after the Empath. I named my new girl the night I happened to watch "The Empath". My girl turned out to be quite empathic and knew to cheer us up when we needed it.) and if anyone hurt my fur-babies, I'd fo what Archer threatened to do to T'Pol when he first met her! Fortunately, I never had to and they all had happy lives.

You know this was a good show. I think at this time though the core fans were more interested in the story being told in the known time period(TNG, DS9, Voyager). The casual fan probably did suffer from franchise fatigue 🤷🏻‍♂️. I liked it though. I was frustrated with a prequel, as I always am it seems, but as it kept going I got over it and got into it.
