Dude, you completely misunderstood him... He's talking about relativity and what people consider when rating things. He means in terms of sales and popularity back in the day. Who made more money? Ask 20 people if they know who Led Zeppelin is, then ask them who Beefheart is and see who's more known. Does that mean LZ is better? Of course not it just means if you're considering just one aspects of 'success' it's easy to put anything on top or bottom.
