Great Tutorial. But I have two questions. When I apply a rhythm to a section or a whole chord progression, made by captain chords, the rhythm change lifts all the notes one or two octaves up. Is this a feature? This happens independent of which rhythm I choose. And the second question is about loosing notes when applying rhythm changes. In your video, the base notes get lost. Why is this?. Both problems together are pushing down my workflow. Are these features, that I just do not understand? Something new happend. When I change the rhythm settings in the lower bar and change the section width, the notes of that section also sometimes jump up 2 ocatves. Why is that? Investigation goes on. When applying rhythm, the chords always jumps to Octave 4. No matter, where I started the process. When I apply rhythms on notes in Octave 4, it stays in Octave 4. That could not be a feature!?

I recently started a song using Orb producer suite. I tried working with it quite a bit. I think I like Captain Epic more. It seems more powerful and easier to use. For me, compared to Orb and Scaler 2, this is the clear winner. Great job guys, please keep updating. Thank you 🎹

It doesn't change them automatically at the moment, so the best way is to export the MIDI to your DAW and arrange them as you would like them to be played in your project 🙂

I need a video to show the order of getting started and building a tune....like, do you start in Captain chords first?...then add the drums and bass? I noticed that you've already got some drums backing you up here?

That is up to you, sometimes I start with drums, sometimes I have an idea for a chords/melody - start there and build the drums around that. Having the drums going makes it kinda easier to hear what should be coming next, but doing the drums first is also kind of limiting for that exact reason. You need to try and fail till you find your own way, there is no how do I do this, you just start doing something and find what works for you.

What did they do with the adjustable swing setting? It was in 5 but now it’s gone. They need to bring it back to Chords, Bass and Melody

hey, you can still add Swing on Captain Plugins Epic 7. After making a selection on some chord notes, you will see an icon to open the Humanization options, one of the options is for Swing. You will see all the Swing presets there :)

If you open another instance of Captain Chords Epic, you will need to apply the changes to that instance as well. It doesn't happen automatically. But, it's a cool idea to have an option to link them together, so when you make a change to one instance, it changes the other instance as well. We will definitely consider developing something for Arpeggios :)

Definitely need STANDALONE functionality to use outside of a DAW (for songwriting/practising purposes). This would only require you to add a metronome/tempo control. Scaler 2 fails at standalone functionality because there is no way to adjust the tempo of the chord progression when used outside of a DAW.

sup with the logic midi drag bug that extends midi over 9 bars

Which Logic version and Mac OS version are you using? We will look into this ASAP. Are you dragging a 4 bar midi loop and it’s dropping a 9 bar loop?

Logic Pro 10.7.4 using Ventura OS. Yes everytime i create a 4 bar loop it turns to a 9 bar loop when i drag it into Logics track@@mixedinkey

Man what's happened to generate chord progression? I was so good, but now it only generates 1/3 good and 2/3 bad, and never a full progression that is good, only like half and then I must do the rest, its like theory just went out the window and its just mashing random chords from the chosen scale. Two fist chords are usually good, the third of fourth will have some kind of fuck up, chord that doesnt work or it will slice only the last chord, invert it way higher or lower than rest. It starting to sound like A.I. generated stuff from three years ago, not good. Whats going on?
