in the "long" term, I expect that elites like Crushers and Bulwarks will get buffed up again to a point where they dont feel so squishy. Crushers can 1 hit kill you which is great, but they're absurdly easy to kill right now, especially for elite, heavily armored Ogryns of all things. If/when that happens, that should open up the role of true armored killer again (which Plasma should be good at, dont get me wrong). But for Melta, I just picture very short range, pure ap, massive damage, low ammo. Certainly not a weapon that can press F and clear a room of shooters from range, but one that can absolutely melt high hp enemies and bosses

my would be, so while plasma gun is like a line of death, A melta would be a cone of death. Probably have superior damage on Monsters and Heavy armor, but range very minimal.

I mean, on the TT the plasma is more like a grenade launcher. it used to be template and is now high damage single hit. My expectation of the melter is kind of a single target flamethrower. kinda like a blowtorch, just going ssssssss

Well what do know... just finished playing a couple of awesome auric maelstorm games with the plasma gun, and I see a notification of a new video of Indy playing with it. Plasma rifle feels so nice especially seeing the kill feed of all the elites and specials killed when they line up nicely

From a lvl ~630+ vet that carries auric maelstroms: With T4 maniac & Specialist, 80 dmg&stopping power, taking the full middle tree with ammo aura and 3x 5% ranged damage nodes on the left side, you can get the breakpoints for uncharged bodyshot on flamers and all specials, 2 shot muties. Elites still need headshot or ult dmg buff up, but being able to uncharged bodyshot all the specials also greatly improves ammo efficiency and quickswap shoot potential. Also you don't need stance with this setup, it doesn't provide any significant breakpoint improvements and voice of command is insanely stupid broken OP at the moment, especially with the 50% toughness damage reduction.

nice info about the breakpoints thanks! Voice of Command is for sure stupid good atm. There's still plenty of reason to Stance though, even if you believe VoC is better. Ton of situations in this vid where I was able to kill 10+ elites/specials and 30+ shooters before they could become a threat, simply because of how much info it gives when you enter a new area. 14:46 and 18:13 are good examples

Nice vid! Great example of the recent damnation random queue teammate skill too. lol. I've now had 2 different games since patch 13 in which someone aggros a Daemonhost and then leaves :,) Still, worth it considering the skill trees and weapon buffs. Game is a blast and I'm looking forward to more updates.

I want another vriant of the Plasma gun. One, that does less dmg but big AOE on impact. And i want the projectile to be more visible. I love the guns as it is here in Darktide but not seeing the trail always makes me sad. A Pistol would also be cool.

Indi when you using shock maul power it up while dodging side to side and you can set up heavy attacks in the process. Left right left right, dodge dodge dodge, power power power. Each hit will work like a home running a school bus…

I hope they add in a hotshot lasgun (maybe it regens ammo but has low capacity?) Or a long las or a melta. Plasma pistol would be cool too since some commissars use it, or like a bolt pistol maybe

Hotshot should have a high ammo pool and damage, but some form of overheating mechanic and high recoil to balance it out. As for the boltpistol, it's already in the game files. Plasma pistols are already in the game as well (used by the enemy captains), so it shouldn't be impossible that we get a playable version of it.

Playing this game from Xbox gamepass. I'm playing pubs a lot just grinding to get that plasteel and such. So watching you clutch that revive was awesome. I rarely see anyone taking the time and thinking before just going in guns blazing and trying to revive in a chaotic situation. Instead thinking and being patient can save you and your run. Thanks for providing some evidence for that fact. Cause a lot of times I just get told I'm an idiot for trying to think past situations and not go thru on pure adrenaline. Lol. Though I can appreciate pure adrenaline for entertainments sake lol

i haven't used it since the changes, but there was 3 different spots you can animation cancel the reload to shave off a couple seconds. it makes enough of a difference i barely bothered with the instant reload feat afterwards.

Hey I have a little interesting thing for you, if you put a point into Rending Strikes and a point into Ranged Damage boost +5% right before the Deadshot keystone, and have +25% flak damage on your plasma, You will deal 1405 flak damage, which is exactly as much as you need to one shot body shot Gunners :D. I use 80% damage plasma with volatile and flak armour 25% Maniac 25% those two perks above plus sniper and all that jazz and I can 1 shot bodyshot: Both Gunners All specialists except Dog and Tox Flamer (survives with like 15hp which is infuriating :D) Both types of shotgunners Mauler is one shot + one charged shot Crusher is one charged shot + either one head shot or 2 body shots Bulwark one body shot to open shield and one charged shot to kill. Reaper is one Charged shot + one body shot - unless specified like with the crusher these are all body shots. It is important to say that Green Gunners have parts of their bodies like hands and their right leg exposed and count as unarmoured so dont hit them there :D

Lol, your team was just fantastic. Not quite the run up to a DH in the middle of a boss+horde and drop a krak grenade on its face then bot out, but damn. Also for some reason I think Daemonhosts sense you more when you are looking at them. I find I trigger them from farther away if I have them in view than if I am looking away.

Wasn't the plasma gun supposed to shoot through some cover as well ? I remember doing corner shots and wall bangs on some thin covers like pipes and metal bars and sometimes plascrete if i was aiming at the very edge of it.

I am sitting on some nice recon lasgun with inferno 4 and headhunter 3 (sadly) and crit + reload perk but since i have already rerolled twice it's now locked and i hate that. The biggest hard pass for me right now is the lack of freedom for perk and blessings since it's still locked behind slot machines..... Hopefully they decide to adress that later.

Can't remember the name of the talent, but it's towards the bottom of the middle tree. Grants 25% toughness on special or elite kill and another 25% over a few seconds (I think 5 seconds?). It can stack multiple times. There's also one for toughness regen while "x" amount of meters away from enemies.

I've got a bunch of different builds like always. .I wasn't a fan of hte plasma pre updates because bleeding the heat hit your health which just sucked ass. I haven't played with it yet. I have a shotgun build. 2 different build with the Stub revolver..I just love that gun. I have a las gun build and put together an autogun build today though I haven't used it.
